PETALING JAYA: Lotte Chemical Titan Holding Bhd has clarified that its integrated petrochemical facility (IPF) project in Indonesia has not been suspended, as reported by two Korean news portals.

The group, in an announcement to the stock exchange, said the information in the reports dated Sept 10 and 11, 2018, relating to the company and the project were “incorrect and misleading.”

The reports had stated that the IPF project had been “suspended”, “halted”, or “made little progress”.

“Referring to the above, the board wishes to clarify that there has not been any suspension on the IPF Project and it is currently at the final stage of the Front End Engineering & Design (FEED) study. In parallel, the company has been working on the environmental impact assessment and undertaking other activities in relation to the IPF project,” it said.

It added that the project was being managed and supervised by the company, and that major changes to the project, if any, would require prior approval from the board, of which, 50% are independent directors.
