The probable reason for the share price positive increase is because net interest income rose 11% year-on-year to RM989.36 million, while non-interest income nearly doubled to RM603.16 million.

Shares in RCE Capital Bhd (KL:RCECAP) surged on Tuesday, and were on course for their biggest single-day gain in more than six years, following a proposed one-for-one bonus share issue.

RCE Capital rose as much as 28 sen, or nearly 10%, its steepest climb since May 2018. The stock hit RM3.20, its highest since Jan 26, and was trading at RM3.13 at 11.30am, giving the consumer finance company a market value of RM2.32 billion.

The stock was also more active than usual, with 1.62 million shares changing hands, quadruple the 20-day moving average.

“We are positive on this proposal, as we believe that the bonus issue will enhance the marketability of its shares”, making the stock more appealing and improve the trading liquidity, said Public Investment Bank. If the proposal goes through, RCE Capital’s target price will be adjusted to RM1.56, it noted.

Aih... go up before financial announcement and then back to down again... dividend payout also decreased to 1 sen...
