and the obvious reason for him to offer privatization is to relist the company ports seperately in the future, which will give much better total market capitalization

I thought no somebody else that can offer privatization on this company except SM himself who is the biggest shareholder who own 51% of the company shares under his name?

and that is about the delay of the BOD deliberation, as for the price swing, I believe most part of it has to do with C24 and C23 expiring

@ziyang8896 but there is no point given the fact that PNB alone is enough to vote down the SCR, what I don't understand is if the delay is really caused by disagreement of PNB, why SM didn't discuss with them prior the SCR announcement

hopefully this is not the case and the delay is actually caused by technical things that require time to be sorted out only

if the delay is because PNB is in middle of disccusion price revise with SM, and they finally comes out with an agreed revised price, then hurray for all the retailers, definitely the best retailers can dream of for the time being

only 1 reason if PNB insist to vote against this SRC, and that is they firmly believe this company worth way above RM2, not really a bad thing anyway? at least in the longer run?

since all retailers are part of the non interested parties shareholders, and if they don't show up, they still make up for the total of non interested parties shareholders right? if that the case, then don't show up means you don't vote against = considered as vote for

should be that simple right? most retailers don't bother to show up to cast their insignificant votes

because the rejection is base on not more than 10% voting against

imo, not casted votes should be considered as voting for the SRC to be fair, you only show up to vote against if you are against the privatization

not casted votes considered as void? if that the case it is really hard to go through, as most likely retailers who will most likely vote for the SRC mostly won't show up to cast their votes, it is very easy for those who vote against to get more than 10% because majority of those who tend to vote for doesn't care to show up

anyway, those who don't vote will automatically be considered as vote for right? if that the case, can easily presume all retailers will not vote against

even those who bought above 1.8 will not even dare to think to vote against after this massive down swing, as for those who bought above rm2, hopefully u guys can be gladful to be able to exit at rm2 as well

I am not saying that we should vote against so that price can go beyond rm2 in the future, because RM2 is the best win situation now for the minor shareholders. but just stating that it is not the end if the worst (privatization fail) happens

just because value and price can get very disconnected in stock market, we can do fundamental value investing, with patience, good odds that the disconnected gap will get closer by time

so back to fundamental analyst how much you think this company worth. but of course if you disregard fundamental, it is all gamble and unpredictibility in share market

don't forget that this company's market price is heavily manipulated even before the privatization announcement.

the lower the price goes before the voting, the lower chance shareholders will vote against the privatization, simply mindgame to ensure less people will vote against it

if the privatization success = free money at RM2.

if fail, it is not the end / loss until you sell the share

only invest with spare money that you can hold this long term

up to this point I think investors overlooked the true value of this company, focusing mainly on the fail / success of privatization, forgotten the fact that the market price of this company can go beyond rm2 in the future without this privatization

imo, not making any good sense for minor shareholders to reject this offer, reject = auto making loss until price go beyond rm2 in the market, which is never promised

by the way I topped up a few at 1.75

@Inv3st0r69 more likely just random guy spread fake rumours try to collect cheap, plus bad market sentiment, sudden but temporary slight drop from 1.8 to 1.72 is acceptable, consolidated at 1.76 now, will back to 1.8 again soon until further privatization progress announcement. this my personal view la, so no need source hehe, invest at your own risk
