I thought the fire in August last year only destroyed the inventory and not the production capacity.... they have claimed the losses from insurance....received 10 million in the 4Q FY16 and 13 million received in Feb this year... and may have other claims on compensation.....

Cost of waste paper went up but the selling price of industrial paper shoot up even higher.... Imported paper is more expensive due to weak ringgit.... Short supply from China....that's why the share price shot up to 1.80 from 1.50 in Feb/March...

Muda also exports their products so they should have forex gains....especially for the perood jan-March 17 when the USD to RM was about 4.4-4.5..They are paper manufacturer with annual capacity of 475,000 tons...Industrial brown paper increased by a few hundred ringgit per Tom. During this period, isn't it?

All paper manufacturers are doing well now.... due to increase in paper prices except those paper and cartoon packaging companies...where the import costs increased...

Muda carried an inventory of rm200 million as of 31st Dec 2016.... So Muda stand to gain in the value of the inventory .as the price of paper gone up ....

Muda: 305 million shares.....

Capacity 475,000 tons per annum. If 1 ton can bring additional profit of RM100 per ton, Additional profit ths year would be 47.5 millions. If each ton can bring additional RM200, the additional profit would be RM95.0 millions....:)

Dividend payout is about or more than 50% of net profits....

If this year can make, 20, 25 or even 30sen per share.....The dividend could be 10-15 Sen....:)

Current Asset minus ALL liabilities =RM700+ millions. It is more than RM1 per share.... not yet included investment in associated companies, 400 millions shares in Inari, 50 millions Hohup, ....and other fixed assets...

Despite all these.... it is still at the mercy of the "Daiko" whichever way the price should move!!!

My 2 Sen opinion....

Maybe better just buy and keep it under the pillow :)

Dance to the tune of the operator then you would be OK.... when volume is up and more retailers are in, the operator will unload...and vice versa....

Today is a bad day across the board..... why? What are the actual reasons? Global? Geopolitical risks? Syria/North Korea/Trump, USD too strong?..... :(

Stockman, different people different approach.. some like to gamble but some stick to investment into a good business....but by and large, malaysian retailers in the stock market like to gamble...
I have seen so many failed punters....Look at Dr Neoh'S portfolios right now, you can check that he bought and kept those shares for years.... collected dividends and the share prices have multiplied many folds....

It's not easy for us to emulate....most of us prefer quick kills... haha! Either kill or be killed! Haha!

Are you sure those who follow Dr Neoh's method did other make money in he 1993 Super Bull? The index shot up to 1300+ from about 600...

Many of those punters lost what they made from 1993 plus their own money after 1993 subsequently using their "methods".....

It was euphoria then and people just crazy then buying empty company like Berjuntai Tina @RM38....and many many more...which collapsed subsequently.....

Bullrun, not really, I got enough from Hohup... quite a lot of foreign capital from it, I made 4 -5 rounds in Hohup sine March 16... I was always lucky with it...sold b4 at 96... 87... 84...., bot a big bulk at 74 haha.... I can always buy tomorrow if I want to .... I will always wish people best of luck
