Based on what I know, refinancing bonds can be a good solution if cannot meet bond payments on final maturity date.
This is why I worry if USD 300 million can be settled by May 2022….when refinancing is adversely affected by the downgraded bond ratings.

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 12): Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd, which recently missed the coupon payment for one of its US$300 million sukuk, said it has no intention to default and is committed to fulfil the payment before the grace period ends.

In a statement, Serba Dinamik said that the coupon payment due was approximately US$7 million (RM29.15 million). The coupon payment for the 3-year, US dollar-denominated sukuk was due on Nov 9.

Lessons of Bilis the bird

Once upon a time, there was a contrarian sparrow, named Bilis, who decided not to fly south for the winter. However, soon the weather turned so cold that he reluctantly started southward.

In a short time, ice began to form on his wings and he fell to earth in a barnyard, almost frozen.

A cow passed by and crapped on little Bilis.

Bilis thought it was the end.

But then the manure warmed him and defrosted his wings.

Just then Mable - a large male cat impersonating as a female cat - came by and hearing the chirping, investigated the sounds.

1. Can serba submit audited accounts by next deadline 30th Nov?

2. Serba want to appoint a new auditor firm for SIR or not agreeable to SIR?

3. When Bursa would uplift the trading suspension?

Please read Bursa n SC’s regulations under laws of Malaysia. If found guilty, fines or jail or both maybe applicable.

If coupon payment not paid by final deadline, the last thing I want to hear is banks pulling out or if early termination of bonds occur (hopefully not la).

I think Lawsuits cannot stop other regulatory actions or stop bankers or financial institutions to demand for payments….
