I think the day of reckoning is drawing closer. As many medical expert have been predicting, the day of a new variant totally evading the current vaccines may be arriving soon. I predict that there may be more than 1. Perhaps one will rise in the West, another may come from the East.

China Partly Closes World's Third Busiest Cargo Port Over COVID-19 Case
Authorities in China have suspended operations at a terminal in the world's third busiest cargo port after a worker was infected with the coronavirus.
The closure of a key terminal at the Ningbo-Zhoushan port on the east coast, which handled almost 1.2 billion tons in 2020, reflects China's determination to squash its worst coronavirus outbreak in months no matter the economic costs.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Slowly Delta is gonna affect the supply chain in China on export and imports. Likely their glove production and exports will be affected. Similar case for Thailand. So Msia glovemakers will have to work harder to fill the supply gaps.

Yup pjseow, concur with ur calculation. In fact it will not easy for ASP to drop to USD 30-35 level, as most new and smaller players will die a natural death at those prices, as their cost is much higher. So likely the big boys will eventually buy them up cheap. So the contrarian strategy by big funds is that early part of pandemic, push price to peak at RM12 , then middle of pandemic press price to close to pre-pandemic to collect back then almost end of pandemic push up again , then post pandemic settle at ard RM 6-8 base on PE 15 of earnings.

1. US expansion plan is underway, with full details
2. Clinching of long term supply contracts with US/UK/EU/Canada Govts
3. Reviving of SGX dual listing plan, since if items 1&2 are confirmed, SPM become more attractive
4. PAT >1b
5. Attractive end FY dividend, cash + share dividend. ( ard 40% of FY21 earnings)
6. Due to Delta effect, ASP has stabilize at elevated level
7. Expedited/early completion of phase 1 expansion, perhaps 36b capacity by Sep/Oct 21.
8. Expedited/early completion of phase 2 expansion, perhaps 48b capacity by June/July 22.
9. Due to Delta airborne spread, the N95 mask sales may now have a more substantial revenue
contribution going forward.
10.Due to multiple variants, glove markets/ customers have expanded multi-fold especially with
the developing countries and 3rd world countries too, now that the low vaccinated nations are
badly affected. Meaning, traditionally low glove consumption nations have now substantially
increase their consumptions going forward.

@pjseow
I have computed supermx earning with 48 billions capacity and ASP at US 30 per 1000, the EPS is 53.3 sen . At current price the Earning yield is
17.2 % which is still higher than the current EY of the 8 popular non glove stocks listed above . In my opinion , Supermx is the most undervalued stock in the whole of KLSE .
10/08/2021 3:45 PM
Yup pjseow, I couldn't agree more with you. Supermax is the most undervalued stock in the whole of KLSE. That's why I m here. And that's why so many shortist's and sharks' goons are here day and night fearmongering. Shortists really thought pandemic will be over by now, after the vaccines were rolled out. So they have alrdy pressed Supermax to PE2 or ard 2X cash in hand value. But in reality, things are more complicated and not so predictable. But one thing is for sure, gloves are still in high demand more than ever. Now with more developing and 3rd World countries increasing their glove consumption due to Delta. The structural change to the global glove consumption is likely more substantial than previously predicted, due to the many new variants. When later Covid becomes endemic, the glove consumption will remain elevated for sometime. On top of, many countries around the world have been building up back logs cases of non-Covid cases. UK alone has more than 13 mil back log cases, which will take years to clear.
So the question is how much more can they press further? With every passing qtr, Supermax cash in hand continue to grow. And if shortist continue to press down, its a matter of time before the cash in hand > market cap ! If this happens its probably unprecedented in the history of KLSE or even the bourses of the entire world. Think about it, cash in hand > market cap. Can that happen? As we can see, the support is alrdy building up at ard 3.0.
I think Harta was "punished" bcos although the profit was fantastic, they did not declare a fresh round of cash dividend for 1Q22, but instead fall back on the special dividend of end FY21. By right Harta should hv declared a fresh cash dividend for 1Q22 itself. That would have gave a boost to the glove prices all round. Anyhow, Supermax is at the end FY21, with a super record earning. Rightly, it should declare a fantastic cash dividend + special dividend. Like u say , ard 40% of the total FY21 earning, just below Harta. Assume coming QR PAT = 1b . then total EPS = 146sen @ 40% = 58.4sen - less previous dividend = 18.6 sen. I would be happy with that.

Stealth its possible tonee- a listing in the US
09/08/2021 4:23 PM
Yup Stealth, why I mention that is bcos, amongst the Big4, Supermax will appear to be more attractive to the FF, coz of its US/UK expansion. Looking at 5 years from now, it would be a totally different animal alrdy. FF will want to invest early into any potential exponential growth story, and in SEA, Supermax is one of that story. With its cheap price, huge cash in hand, low debt ratio, exciting expansion plans both locally and internationally, potential huge earnings going forward, good management, good dividend payout last 4 qtrs, potential of OBM clinching OGM deals, it has better growth story than the rest of the glove players. This is a rough diamond going thru the triple excellent cut process now.
2021-08-09 16:01 | Report Abuse
Actually, amongst the Big4, Supermax probably has the most potential to become an international conglomerate due to its OBM biz. Now with its physical expansion plans to US and UK, it can eventually seek full listing in the stock markets there, as a longer term plan. Dual listing in SGX will be a good stepping stone to bigger global presence. Its clear that KLSE is too constraining if you want to grow big.

@pjseow Tonee, yes . agreed with you that supermx will most likely give out dividend every qtr. If supermx give out 50 % of the 8 b for the next 7 qtrs on average , it will be 21 sen per qtr. The dividend yield will be 84/310 or 27 %. At the end of 2022, the company still has 4 b cash in.hand after paying off the total 1.39 b for capacity expansion plus another 4 b as cash dividend.
08/08/2021 9:43 PM
Yup pjseow, concur with you. If buy at this price, later the div yield potentially can be very high. If Supermax cancel the US expansion, then they may distribute more cash out, potentially div yield can go > 20% . If they proceed with the US expansion, then they will conquer bigger % of the US market in future. Either way is good news.

https://edition.cnn.com/2021/08/07/world/covid-vaccine-booster-shot-inequality-intl-gbr-cmd/index.html
'A Band-Aid over a gaping hole': Booster shots for the rich world won't end the pandemic, experts warn
As concerns mount over the highly contagious Delta variant, wealthy nations are tightening their grip on vaccine arsenals, while desperate people elsewhere in the world are dying due to a lack of shots. Meanwhile, around the world, hundreds of millions of people are still waiting to receive their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine and the prospect of widespread immunity feels like a pipe dream.
Africa and Southeast Asia, where vaccine rates are low, are seeing some of their worst coronavirus outbreaks of the pandemic. Authorities are being confronted with a pressing and seemingly insurmountable problem: How to reduce deaths without doses, and among populations who can no longer afford to stay at home.
On Wednesday, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called for a moratorium on vaccine boosters until at least the end of September, with the goal of getting 10% of every country's population vaccinated by then.
"I understand the concern of all governments to protect their people from the Delta variant. But we cannot accept countries that have already used most of the global supply of vaccines using even more of it, while the world's most vulnerable people remain unprotected," Tedros said.
Andrea Taylor, assistant director of programs at Duke University's Global Health Innovation Center, told CNN that prioritizing booster shots over ending global transmission would put everyone, including people in high-income countries, in a more dangerous position.
"If countries like Germany, like the US, like the UK choose to roll out booster shots before we have ensured that all communities worldwide have access to the first two doses of the vaccine, we're not really solving the problem ... It's a little bit like putting a Band-Aid over a gaping hole," said Taylor, who is leading research looking at global vaccine distribution at Duke.
"Just as we saw in South Asia, when there was uncontrolled transmission and the Delta variant really took off, there isn't anything to prevent that happening right now on the continent of Africa. And so, it's very likely that we could end up in a situation where we have even more dangerous, more transmissible, more infectious variants coming out of the spread that we are currently seeing in Africa."
Kelley said that if wealthier nations with adequate vaccine coverage aren't swayed to share more doses by the ethical arguments of fairness and equity, hopefully they can be persuaded by the threat of future variants looming beyond their borders.
"It's just willful ignorance to think that they're not going to come back to haunt wealthier countries," she said.
------------------------------------------------------
Experts keep emphasizing that at the rate things are going, we will be seeing the emergence of a supervirus more powerful than Delta, which will hit back hard at the developed world for being selfish with vaccines.
2021-08-08 17:25 | Report Abuse
That's right pjseow, by end 2022 . However, with PAT of 1b, I would expect dividend issue at every qtr in FY22. At current price, div yield should be >15%. So if price drop lower then better yield. With RM weakening against USD going forward, the earnings will be even better. Rather than money sitting in FD, better park in high dividend yield stocks.

08/08/2021 1:41 PM
Let's not just tok about individual share price, that is the side effect of real life events. When you read that many medical experts are so sure that that a supervirus that can fully evade current vaccines will be emerging sooner than later, that is a sign of warning. When that happens then even all those fully vaccinated will become vulnerable. Then only those with new variant updated booster jabs will be safe. That will create new global uncertainties, likely leading to the collapse of many recovery stocks and turning most healthcare stocks including glove into safe haven.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-08-08/could-indonesias-outbreak-give-rise-to-a-new-variant-covid19/100343554
Experts fear Indonesia, considered one of the world's COVID-19 epi-centres, is now a high-risk "hotspot" for the emergence of a new coronavirus "super strain".An alarming second wave in the country has been largely fueled by the highly infectious Delta variant, which was first identified in India's out-of-control outbreak.
And now experts are worried that a similar situation could occur in Indonesia, where the rampant spread of the virus may create the perfect breeding ground for another variant of concern.
As a second wave of the coronavirus has swept through Indonesia's densely populated Java island and Bali in recent months, the hospital system buckled under the pressure of an influx of cases.
The result has been a tragic loss of life, with the death toll in Indonesia surpassing 100,000 since the pandemic began. A staggering 40 per cent of them have been in the past five weeks alone.
Epidemiologist Dr Budiman says the high positivity rate in Indonesia, or the percentage of people testing positive to COVID-19, as well as the uncontrolled nature of the pandemic, are signs that a new "super strain" could emerge in Indonesia. "It's only a matter of time," Mr Budiman, who also advises the Indonesian government on its pandemic strategy, said.
Professor Katzourakis agrees that it's "right to pick out Indonesia as a possible hotspot" and says it is "completely reasonable" to expect more virulent variants to arise over the coming year.
"If a new virulent strain arises in Indonesia, or arrives in Indonesia, it could challenge Delta," he said. According to the CSIRO's COVID-19 Project Leader Professor Seshadri Vasan, at least one more variant of concern will be declared before the end of 2021, "and it could emerge anywhere".
The "worst-case scenario", in Dr Dr bac's view, would be if a vaccine-resistant variant were to take hold.
"That doesn't mean 100 per cent vaccine resistant, but one that is able to bypass vaccines or immune protection much more than Delta.
"If that were the case, all of the vaccinated people who are relatively protected against other variants, would then be vulnerable hosts to a new variant."
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Experts now believe that a "super strain" variant has developed in Indonesia and that's why Covid is out of control there. Indonesia is now considered the "hotspot" for such more virulent variant.

It took the U.S. about nine months to cross the 100,000 average case number in November before peaking at about 250,000 in early January. Cases bottomed out in June but took about six weeks to go back above 100,000, despite a vaccine that has been given to more than 70% of the adult population.
The seven-day average for daily new deaths also increased, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. It rose over the past two weeks from about 270 deaths per day to nearly 500 a day as of Friday.
Our models show that if we don't (vaccinate people), we could be up to several hundred thousand cases a day, similar to our surge in early January," Centers for Disease Control and Prevention director Rochelle Walensky said on CNN this week.
The number of Americans hospitalized with the virus has also skyrocketed and it has gotten so bad that many hospitals are scrambling to find beds for patients in far-off locations. "The health care system right now is nearly at a breaking point. ... For the next three weeks or so, I see no relief on what's happening in emergency departments," Persse said Thursday.

This is the warning from Fauci:
“we’re looking to some pain and suffering in the future because we’re seeing the cases go up,”
Fauci told McClatchy D.C. on Wednesday, the virus will keep spreading through the fall and winter — giving it “ample chance” to develop another, worse variant. So long as a virus can spread, it can mutate and create more dangerous variants. And while the Covid vaccines in use appear to work well against current variants, “there could be a variant that’s lingering out there that can push aside delta,” Fauci told McClatchy. “Remember, just a couple of months ago, we were having about 10,000 cases a day,” Fauci told McClatchy. “I think you’re likely going to wind up somewhere between 100,000 and 200,000 cases.” The average is currently higher than the peak last summer, before vaccines were authorized and in use.

Listen to the experts' opinions and have more critical thinking rather than blindly follow the views of the deep pockets who of course determine the course of the share prices, but just maybe reality has come to a real turning point in the crisis, which even deep pockets have to acknowledge and kow tow to, ie the high possibility of the emergence of a supervirus as predicted by Fauci, one that will evade all current vaccines.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/05/dr-fauci-things-will-get-worse-amid-covid-delta-surge-unvaccinated.html
Dr. Fauci: ‘Things are going to get worse’ — here’s what that could look like
Though it’s tough to imagine a situation more dire than the country’s current surge, “we’re looking to some pain and suffering in the future because we’re seeing the cases go up,” Fauci said.
Experts suggest the U.S. needs a 90% vaccination rate to reach herd immunity, given delta’s keen ability to spread. If that doesn’t happen, Fauci told McClatchy D.C. on Wednesday, the virus will keep spreading through the fall and winter — giving it “ample chance” to develop another, worse variant.
So long as a virus can spread, it can mutate and create more dangerous variants. And while the Covid vaccines in use appear to work well against current variants, “there could be a variant that’s lingering out there that can push aside delta,” Fauci told McClatchy.
If a more vaccine-resistant variant emerges, people could need booster shots. Countries like Israel, Germany and France have already started administering third doses of mRNA vaccines as boosters — though the World Health Organization said Wednesday that it’s too soon to move forward with boosters until vaccine inequalities are addressed around the world.
“We’re talking about boosters in countries that have access to vaccine,” Keri Althoff, an epidemiologist at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, told CNBC Make It. “Whereas we still have people all over the world who don’t have any access, at this point, to even the first dose.”
Most of the virus’s current ability to spread across the U.S. — which has plentiful vaccine supply — is due to America’s large population of unvaccinated people. About 30% of the adult population in the U.S. has not received at least one dose, and roughly 33% of eligible children ages 12 -17 have yet to receive a shot.
New data from the CDC has also raised concerns about breakthrough cases, where vaccinated people can occasionally transmit the delta variant to other people. The CDC only tracks breakthrough cases that lead to severe hospitalizations and death, but most breakthrough cases tend to be mild or asymptomatic — leading some experts to say the agency could be missing crucial real-time data on their prevalence and ability to foster new variants.
The seven-day rolling average of daily cases was 84,389 on Aug. 2, according to the CDC’s data. Last year, the CDC reported about 68,700 new cases per day.

US need 90% fully vaccinated to achieve herd immunity. According to Fauci, US cannot avoid the coming pain and suffering. Gonna be a tough winter for US. After that may have to face a new more powerful variant that can totally evade all current vaccines next year. US still have a long way to go to get out of the pandemic.
