KUALA LUMPUR (Jul 3) -- Nomura Securities raises Malaysia's 2017 GDP growth estimate to 5.3% from previous 4.8% forecast and 4.2% last year on strong exports and its spillover effect, which could boost employment and private consumption. "This is the second time we revise the growth target upwards. Now, we have a fairly positive view on Malaysia economy, as certain political issues didn't bring too much of a shock to investors," says Nomura Securities Senior Economist Euben Paracuelles.
