KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 9): The Ministry of Health's (MoH) Covid-19 test screening will provide multiple monetisation opportunities to My EG Services Bhd (MyEG), according to CGS-CIMB Research.

In a note today, the research house's analyst Mohd Shanaz Noor Azam said there will be three monetisation opportunities from the project, namely Covid-19 test screening fee (which ranges from RM30 to RM150 for Malaysian nationals and RM60-250 for foreigners, depending on the type of Covid-19 detection test), service fee for mandatory quarantine at a private facility, and a "meet and greet" service to assist travellers throughout the processes.

“We understand that the Covid-19 test screening will be done twice, once on arrival and again on the 14th day after arrival,” he added.

MyEG announced yesterday it had received a letter of acceptance from the MoH to undertake the provision of an online payment system for inbound travellers to pay for Covid-19 test screening and quarantine charges, prior to their arrival in the country.

While no fixed value for the project has been given by management, CGS-CIMB sees room for higher Covid-19 test screening demand with the potential recovery in tourist arrivals beyond 2020.

“The latest passenger traffic data published by Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd indicated a total of 85,000 international travellers in August 2020. Assuming a 50-50 mix between arriving and departing passengers, we estimate an average of 1,300 international arrivals daily,” said Mohd Shanaz.

CGS-CIMB also projected a recovery in international passenger traffic from 10 million in 2020, to 18.6 million in 2021 and 39.9 million in 2022.

CGS-CIMB reiterates its "add" call on MyEG, with an unchanged target price of RM1.96.

Bonus issues usually is a good sign and will reward in the longer term even tho the share price will drop accordingly (1/3 in Opensys case but shareholding increase by half) on ex-div date

Prlexus should start a side biz : body waxing using this “tech”. Sell masks, sell bodywear, wax whole body where the latter comes with a disclaimer “While our anti-virus wax can kill viruses upon contact, we strongly recommend further protection by using our proprietary face masks and proprietary bodywear for enhanced virus protection”

eYuppie, if/when Generex vaccine is proven to work (Phase 2 now), then it all comes down to whether there are other verifiable vaccine candidates. I hv also taken a bet on SOLUTN

After that, it’ll likely be a political scenario whereby I think the GOM will tell companies like Bintai, Solutn and maybe Kanger that, if their principal vaccine companies hv FDA approval, that these local companies must go through PHARMA and/or DPHARMA for logistics/distribution. I’m absolutely sure all local companies involved with the vaccine knows this and are discussing with GOM on various related matters behind the scene. I think Bintai is being proactive by announcing collaboration with IJN. Perhaps Solutn and Kanger are doing the same but I dunno. That’s just my thots

It’s so funny watching retailers’ reaction. I read their announcement earlier today and I thought “Hmm... RM1Billion... sure will go up”. Then I thought of going in 100,000 shares. For this kinda “expensive” mask (ie expensive to regular folks), Prlexus have to secure big contracts with various companies or even countries. Their mask biz will fail terribly if they’re looking at retail sales. Which goes back to my previous post re pharmas not taking the risk. I suggest paying more attention to their original core biz

@kens88 and others, just look at the chart and the stats (EPS, PE, etc) compared to others glove counters. It’s understandable. Comfort have more volatility. I just patiently wait for next QR. And next QR and on and on :)
