KUALA LUMPUR (July 31): PT CIMB Niaga Tbk, the 92.5%-owned subsidiary of CIMB Group Holdings Bhd, saw its consolidated net profit rise 27.4% to 3.27 trillion rupiah (RM977.27 million) for the first half ended June 30, 2023 (1HFY2023), from 2.57 trillion rupiah (RM767.1 million) in the same period last year.

Earnings per share grew to 129.67 rupiah from 101.65 rupiah, CIMB’s filing with Bursa Malaysia showed.

CIMB Niaga paid total dividends of 2.87 trillion rupiah in 1HFY2023, which is 22.43% higher than the 2.35 trillion rupiah paid in 1HFY2022.

KUALA LUMPUR (July 28): The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Futures (FKLI) contract registered an all-time high in daily trading volume of 71,689 contracts on Thursday (July 27), surpassing the previous record of 66,887 contracts posted on May 27, 2021.

"This historical trading volume record follows market optimism driven by the possible anticipation that the recent US Federal Reserve decision to increase its benchmark interest rate might mark the final raise in the current cycle, as well as the recent launch of the Madani economic framework," said Bursa Malaysia Derivatives.

KUALA LUMPUR (July 25): Bursa Malaysia extended its gaining streak for a fourth consecutive day on Tuesday (July 25), in line with most key regional indices and persistent buying mainly for banking and commodity-related stocks, said an analyst.

Rakuten Trade Sdn Bhd equity research vice-president Thong Pak Leng said the KLCI had broken four resistance levels (1,390, 1400, 1,415, and 1,430) since July 7, thanks to buying support from foreign funds.

The quantum of the dividend will be announced together with 2Q23 report at the end of August, probably around 25th.
The payment will probably on end September.
....previously used to be end October, but after change in CEO, it has been expedited...
....the latest was paid in March 23 instead of April.

The recent sell down of banks stocks was mainly sold by FF....not so much on MBB probably bcos of different investors .....MBB is for yield and more long term investors

@jeffchan1901, RHB is cheap in term of valuation...but the stock hardly moves.
I bought it at 4.60 in September 2020, not much profit.
CIMB n Maybank would have been a better buy at that time.
May be it's because it's a mid cap, when institution buy, they gave priority to big cap like MBB and CIMB.

If you buy some other so call recovery stock....if you enter wrong time, you might suffer paper loss as high as RM1 at current price......

Since pandemic till now, at any time, any price you enter and hold till now, you still make good money....why Tiger investors not happy ?? :)

Share price move so strong probably because the "all in" cut loss liao haha :p
