CIMB now has very high foreign holding, while Maybank got much lower...
so, when market in uptrend, CIMB will go up more.....
....during downtrend, Maybank will be more stable due to lower foreign holding and support from ASB.....and also EPF.

In 2020, I bought CIMB, no Maybank....
In 2021 I reduced CIMB, accummulate Maybank.
Now, I hold a lot of Maybank while keeping some CIMB as souvenirs :)

Yes, I came across one many many years ago in one of the super penny stock....MP Corp if am not mistaken..... (recommended by calvintaneng) ....this "shooter" can write long long very detail story to promote the stock.
The stock dropped to below 10 sen and got delisted already.

The money stays in their portfolio.
ASB pays dividend in units which is reinvested automatically.
.....some investors might withdraw these units, but looking at their fund size each year, most of these units stay.....

Yes agree, there's less upside potential compared to higher beta stock....it's for putting big amount for steady return with lower risk....esp Maybank where it's the biggest holding of ASM and ASB.

Yes choysun has a diversified portfolio which includes many banks.....he is more heavy in Genting, he said.

Lately, he must be feeling very stressful seeing Maybank investors getting richer....haha...LOL
