He argued that taking up such matters with the authorities yielded no results. To cite an instance, in 2012, airport authorities informed carriers that they would have to pay Rs 58 per passenger for the use of the common user terminal (CUTE) facilities. “It was an extra cost dumped on us out of the blue”, former SpiceJet CEO Neil Mills told BW when he was in office. A senior ministry official says AirAsia asked to be excused from these charges as it did not need the CUTE services. But it was informed that it would have to pay the charge regardless of whether it used the service.

Folks, researchers say they've figured it out. They dug through the paperwork airlines filed for 8,269 delayed domestic flights.

1. Half-empty flights are much likely to be canceled on normal day.

2. Half-empty flights are much more likely to be canceled during foul weather than full flights.

3. Flight is more likely to be canceled during a storm if it has fewer premium class passengers on board.

4. If the route is a commuter run with back to back flights, then a flight with less passengers will be cancelled and those few passengers will be combined.

5. Airplanes aren't scheduled for just one route, there are downline flights that still need to be flown. Downline, that particular aircraft may have to be used or that particular route has to be flown so as to cause less downline cancellations.

6. Sometimes flights are canceled in order to return the affected flight lines to their schedule as efficiently as possible.

Folks, if one think one's flight was cancelled due to lack of passenger ( revenue); what will happen to the actual aircraft and crew? Would they not be needed downline to operate another flight ( which may be full)? Also the crew ( pilots and flight attendants) still gets pay for a cancelled flight, they may be reassigned to operate another flight but bottom line is that they do not lose their pay for a cancelled flight.

New Delhi, Oct 9 - The Centre (authority) was on Wednesday directed by the Delhi High Court to respond to a plea filed by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy seeking to restrain the government from granting any approval for investment by a foreign airline in a greenfield airline project like AirAsia. The BJP leader has sought a direction for restraining Centre from granting any approvals/permits.

Remember folks, the airline is undecided about launch dates, though all indications are for a December-January launch. Pilots and cabin crew have already been sent for training to AirAsia’s headquarters in Malaysia, and around two dozen employees have been sitting in a cramped space within the Chennai airport planning the eventual launch and giving the final touches to the fledgling operation. The team is waiting patiently for security clearance from the home ministry.

So how? Hahahahahahahah!!

Folks, even before this issue could be resolved, AirAsia X (the long haul division) decided to close all West-bound stations (London, Paris, Delhi and Mumbai) and concentrate on stations like Japan, China and Australia. That’s how it pulled out of the two Indian metros.

Is India worth the effort, folks? Investors have short memories! Wakakakakaka!!

Folks, it was in 2011 that the problems began. To start with, Hyderabad airport doubled its development charges. You can’t imagine how cost conscious we are despite having almost 60 flights a week out of India, with a total staff of barely 20. In due course, the airline withdrew its Thiruvananthapuram service as it was too close to Tiruchirapalli and Kochi. In March 2012, it pulled out of Delhi and Mumbai due to a combination of factors.

First, the cost of these airports was too high. Second, the airline was using an A330 on the Delhi and Mumbai routes, which meant around 377 passengers on a full flight. But the airline was flying point to point and didn’t have through check-in — passengers had to disembark in KL and go through immigration before flying on to other destinations. Fliers, therefore, needed a visa for Malaysia.

Passengers, of course, didn’t want the inconvenience or the extra cost as they could use other airlines for their onward journey without the hassle. Soon, the airline realised that there wasn’t enough point to point traffic.

So a doomsday! Will history repeat itself? Careful now! Heheheheheheh!!

In 2008, AirAsia Berhad started a daily flight from Tiruchirapalli to Kuala Lumpur (KL). By November 2009, there were daily flights from Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kolkata to KL — all in the same week. In early 2010, twice daily services were added from Chennai to KL and Penang. Subsequently, flights were added from Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Delhi (by August 2010). The Delhi and Mumbai routes being of over five hours duration, A330 (AirAsia X) planes were used. In December 2010, Thai AirAsia introduced daily flights from Kolkata and Delhi to Bangkok. Most of 2010 was spent expanding and consolidating.

Folks, another twist in the tale was added when the Tata group announced that it intended to set up a full-service airline in India in partnership with Singapore Airlines, with a 51 per cent stake in the venture. Since the group also has a stake (30 per cent) in the proposed airline with AirAsia, many feel there could be a conflict of interest. India’s aviation policy is, however, silent on the matter of investment by one promoter in two carriers.

Folks, Swamy's Public Interest Ligitation (PIL) bombshell. The point that the petition sought to raise was, in fact, pointed out by the civil aviation ministry at the time of FIPB clearance: that the FDI policy permits investment only in existing airlines and not in greenfield ones. However, perhaps in an attempt to appear pro-investment, the proposal was cleared by the finance, commerce and civil aviation ministers.

Now, it would appear that the chickens have come home to roost because Swamy’s plea is correct in theory, say senior government officials. So how? Heheheheheheheh!

Folks, at the end of August, foreign holdings of Bank Negara bills and notes fell to RM55.37 billion from RM58.81 billion in July.

Folks, Malaysia is among emerging nations that have seen a reduction in foreign holdings of government bonds after chairman Ben Bernanke said in May that the US Federal Reserve intended to start reducing its bond-buying this year.
