Let's not get lost in the semantics of stk market definations, whether it is uptrend, downtrend, death cat bounce or already crashed , the key Qn is , whatever market it is, how can one make money out of it ?
Or if too risky, shd one just stay out until it is more conducive ?

Each player may give a different answer , depending on one's past experiences & risk tolerance levels.

One see SELL, another see BUY, only time will tell whose decision is the more profitable.

What is valued is the sharing of ideas to make profits or avoid loss .

for small retailers:

better to cut postion with small profit or breakeven now than risk further deterioration,..odds are no good....
listen to the market,if it wanted to limit up,already ample time to do so earlier..

Cutloss & Waterfall topics have been recycled umpteen times here, is there no other tools in the arsenal useful to the newbee investor/trader ?

Like,
1)how to choose the right stk, so as not not get stuck with a cutloss option in the first place
2) Why one should not play daytrader if end up have to cutloss most times
3) Personal Psychology, the problem of Big EGO , that is the main hindrance to investment/trading success
Big EGO thinks he already knows the market, & only sees what he 'knows'

good luck to all holders of AA , good to take some profit bcause there is also market risk, bsides AA stk risk, n have a few stks in portfolio, so not put all hope in one egg only, can sleep better...

if u look at the technical chart in I3, Airasia has been trending down slowly since 4/7/19, when it closed at 2.04 (adjusted for div.).
seems like more selling pressure in the short-term,n limited upside (2.15).
may even drop down to 1.80 before rebound, safer to avoid first..

Short term speculators always looking for goreng goreng stocks up up up..

Bauto already breached the SMA20 line, may go down further to test SMA50 line if market weakens

dollar averaging is a lazy,loser strategy for small punters like us. You & i are not like the units trust, with unlimited funds coming in every mth, that need to put to work.

We got v limited 'funds' , cannot apply lah..

Need to put on thinking cap, find out what are the key requirements in a waterfall stk, that give it a good chance to rebound, eg. tm,genm,genting,gamuda, that already came back from the 'dead'.

that is the value-add that would be useful for your class n us ...

maybe can use some time to study what are the features of a waterfall stock like TM, that makes it stands out among waterfalls, such that it had much better probability of quickly rebound n worth putting money in.
That is value-add, not the dollar-averaging which is only practical for units trusts, etc.
Surely, cannot blindly dollar-average on any stk one fancy.
