evel ... 20ma is very useful ! nothing special about this ma but we can use it as a filter if u like ... eg DRB daily - price is below 20ma on daily; to some traders long is definitely a NO NO but the other day i took a risk to play a short rally sighting +D on 1H chart .. my tp was 20ma DR of daily around 1.32 but she only managed to run up to 1.28 :(

very common to see such retest pattern ... thus a lot will only enter when they see this retest and fail to break upwards; setting SL at nearest swing high !! but yesterday the downleg was V-shape .. no retest whatsoever :(

yes, don't micro-manage if u are not doing scalping / intra-day !! unless price is violating a TL / SR, just let your trade be .. or if still not comfy, then move stop loss to break-even

Connie, i bought C when it retreched. Sell when i earn 4-6 bits, then wait for another retrenchment like today. Will buy again when it touches 21560.

twobits .. hsif hit 20ma of 4H again and now dingdong dingdong again :) there is a double bottom with a +D on 4H though but AO still below zero level ie short-term momentum still not very strong !!

rchi .. thanks for the usd index chart !! forex traders always look at this one for their usd pairs :) since 100 has completed the 162F sequence wonder if it wud take a breather first (which is quite common at this level) before marching on to 262F at 120 ?? OMG more n more charts to look at !!!

anyways .. it's a risk to day-trade when price is hovering around 4H 20ma !!

i drew a downward TL on hsif 15m and will the candle to close above this TL (this will give me a bullish pennant - continuation pattern) then day TP shall be 22550ish ... adjust n readjust the TL whilst there is more progress ... now, a big red candle even crossing below 20ma pulak :) so so so important to be patient ... follow trading rules etc etc !!

this clearly shows it's so important for a trader to know what time-frame he / she is trading !! fellow traders always ask 'so trend is up or down now?' but they fail to specify trend from which time-frame ? it is very risky for the hourly chart trader to follow the 1min chart trader and vice versa .. and if you are a position trader on daily time-frame, do NOT micro-manage your trades in case being stopped out / take profits early due to the whipsaws on lower time frames .. if u trade the daily, ps allow a wider stop loss to give more room for the waves to develop !

hi juni .. oh yes i read some negative things about this indicator but i think a lot of people use it blindly ie above zero line BUY ... below zero line SELL ... i use it mainly for divergence when price hits support or resistance with a candle reversal pattern to get into a fast trade !

twobits ... been looking at the hsi chart using the awesome oscillator ... came across this from jody samuels !! it's pretty awesome .. visual wise much easier to spot momentum / divergence .. great for fast trades :) u may want to check it out
