.
Just read the reports on MH192 this morning. So, there is a building sentiment in me that is saying MAS is contnuing its turbulent journey in many months ahead. It will take years to re-coup in my opinion. After spate of accidents and incidences since MH370, you must be so naive to still trust MAS. What happen to their aeroplanes? Why Boeng? ,etc. I think these are some of the many questions on everyone heads

The rumuors of MAS sale/privatisation did have some reation last week, managed to increase its price from 0.20 to 0.22, that's a good 10%!. However, unless you agree to be treated as naive by such rumours or talks, you shouldn't be too excited.Even if the sale or privatisation is going ahead in the future, one shouldn't count the egg before it hatches.

Repair of aircrafts, bad reputation, decrease sale, negative perception, loggerhead union, financial losses, etc. should be among the issues a take over company would be faced with. It will be a long while before that company could make MAS become profitable again. So, how does that affect real investment value and the share price? Your say.

I am sorry to discuss the above, considering those who are still holding. Of course it is in your interest to hear more good things about MAS; so that MAS share price could go up. But for investors and traders who are about to jump into the fire unknowingly at the mere rumours of privatisation, it should be a precaution for them. It would be different if you are a gambler or one who always goes agaist all odds. But your money, your decision.

This is a forum and my 1/2 cents view here, right or wrong. You shall have your own view. My take is that MAS price will remain low whether privatisation or otherwise due to many issues already mentioned plus the impending stock market crash. KLSE has been on the rise since 2009. It's 5 years already, the top is heavy and many experienced stock traders and investors that I have come across all voted for market crash sometime this year. Nobody would know absolutely but what goes up will go down. So, to me, it doesn't cost me to wait for the right timing but it cost me dearly to buy at the wrong time.

Last year buying @ 0.30 and sold at 0.38 was quite good for me. This time around @0.30 was no longer attractive when the masses voted for TP below 0.30 and some like CIMB was @0.17 and now latest @ 0.14. Whether we like to believe these guys or not, stock trading is about knowing how to read the crowd. Right now you know what you are against..so if you are brave you could buy at 0.28 or so if not, think twice. For me, I refuse to lose my capital and am quite low risk player who plays to win. So, lets see if 0.20 wll be breached in time to come and if so, I think can buy some with confidence. If not then, I'd miss the boat with no regret and no loss. :)

I had one friend flew from KL to Bintulu and his luggage went all over the world. He blamed MAS but he didn't realise he kept the old luggage tags attached. Of course there are many other reasons for missing luggage. At KLIA luggage management relies on KLIA people, not the airlines. Barely 10 years in operation, KLIA luggage belt is poorly maintained resulting in prequent delay of luggage collection; it is an ambarassment.

Now picture this, say after a 14hours flight from Paris you finally waited at the luggage collection belt, but luggages never appeared. One or 2 luggages appeared then stopped. Everybody waited for minutes then hour. You started to feel inpatient (who don't?) and you saw a MAS personnel standing there. You went to approach her and enquired what happened. She said the motor was faulty. You asked, is it only today. She said it happened every now and then. You asked how come no one fix it once and for all? She said it's KLIA's responsibility...

Finally the poor luggage fellow managed to do something about the motor and your luggages appeared after an hour and a half. You headed to the coupon taxi. Then there was a long queue. You waited again and finally you were in an old proton wira driven by an Indon. You actually have no issue with wira neither the Indon if not for the car which felt could break down anytime....after coming from Paris or London, where things seem to work orderlym better taxi, etc....tell me how would you feel about your hometown?

I don't disagree that fuel cost as an important factor in MAS success. All I am saying is, it shouldn't be the basis of determinng the company business plan, as it is indeed something beyond MAS's control. You could read the future oil price as good as an oil and gas economist but such commodity is driven by market forces, speculations and state of economic. For example the cause of oil price drastic drop in 2009 has little to do with the supply and demand or that oil reserve had got suddenly depleted. It was mainly due to market speculations. The same thing on bullish or bearish outlooks, perhaps derived from price charts, etc. but there is no way one could guarantee that oil price won't go higher than the current level in the near future. If fact in line with inflation and production cost, its price should be expected to go higher in the long run. Thus MAS cannot rely on lady luck alone when wrting its future plan. That would be a gamble of some of the pyblic fund. The right thing to do is still to run the company as properly possible, reduce cost, improve efficiency like other more successful aviation companies.

boss, best news but oil price is forever flactuating...it should be already accounted for in running the company. I don't it is prudent to base one's P/L on an oil price which is beyond one's control...

@qqq668, guess you are right, only 10 minutes @ 0.40.....too excited at that time, seemed like hours. Me bought quite a big volue at 0.315, when price went so fast, greed took over so didn't sell right away..:)

@bella5, long term is ok. There are many factors which can push MAS price up but maybe after we have seen more blood. What if KLSE crash? It has been on bull run since the last major crash in 2008/2009..my gut feeling is KLSE will crash sooner than later. And imagine MAS price at that time. Thus, we cannot really talk about its long term as uncertainties exceed MAS positive outlook in my opinion.

Stock

2013-11-20 12:28 | Report Abuse

LOL....when Idris Jala said "might sell MAS", it went up to 0.40 but lasted for a few hours only, I couldn't even catch that selling opportunity, thinking it was still going up ...I remebmer I only managed to sell 50% @ 0.38 and balance @0.36 next day. It turned MAS doesn't have stamina, it is based on rumors only - too many lots in the market, how can you sell so high when so many wish to sell? As I had said, we small kakis should cooperate not to buy above 0.30 for now. Let the price dies down to below. Big boys will collect, let them, but if we don't buy anymore, they have no one to sell to, until it falls below 0.30. Then we wait for the big play acting, jacking up the prices. At that time we sell to them and laughing all the way to the bank...what say you?

Stock

2013-11-20 07:23 | Report Abuse

anyone still stuck @ 0.34? It will come back in a matter of time. After pushing to 0.35, profit taking activities by big crocs who bought at 0.32ish..now at 0.320ish they are buying. It is a short term slow trading cycle...for small fries, try not to buy when the big crocs are waiting to sell...you know that's the classic big fish each small fish...to be better winner, be patient wait for below 0.3..and for stop feeding the crocs...let them buy and no one to sell to

Stock

2013-11-19 12:06 | Report Abuse

As I have expected....I have followed this counter long enough...thus I have known that 0.34ish was a good selling price (not buying). MAS stayed at 0.4 for half day only few months back with 0.36 and above as profit taking prices. You wish to make serious money? Letsbuy below 0.3 then. Anything lower is good, @ 0.17 might a bit extreme. @ 0.27 is fair TP. Buying at 0.34 is to me risky. Comment here is personal perception - you are to trade at your own riskand gains

Stock

it has reached 0.35 few days ago, so I think it has broken the resistance. Why it hasn't shot up? maybe waiting for some fresh rumours or tactical play by big crocodiles. For small kaki traders, those buying a milion lots and below, do take advantage of profit if there is price movement, well that's what I would do. If you are hoping for 0.50, 0.60, 0.70, 0.80 or 1.00 in the short term, well I would be damned as based on the current assessment, who could cause that to happen, consider billions of MAS shares in the market!

For long term play...it is investment, no pain, no gain. Investors invest taking all the risks. Who knows one fine day, MAS is @ RM2.00!

Stock

Stock

For those who have made some money in MAS - the trick is to buy @ 0.30 and sell at 0.34 or higher. I missed out buying at 0.30 in this 2nd round... if you buy and expect selling at .40 and above, it really needs signifcant rumours because the selling at that would be overwheling. If you recall it satyed at 0.4 for half a day only! The "big volume" you saw Thursday wasn't so big lah - and also because MAS shares volume is humongous. If you buy for keep for long term, well there are a lot of sense in doing that, in fact I am still watching when to enter ...scratching my head now if the TP of 29 cents is still valid.hahahaha.

KLCI main support @ 1700 has been violated today...it will take a lot of exceptionally good reasons to reverse this. Would a counter like MAS able to outride market's sentiment? doubful...TP 17-29 is more logical & if market continue to a crashed level..then 17 is more likely than not...

Many of you guys been around in the stock market, some maybe over 20 years. While at it, I bet some of you made a lot of money and become rich while some breakeven and some still lost overall. Despite such market knowlegde, winnings/losings and experiences, I have come across almost 9/10 regrets - that have long term effect until old age. I had known people who was worth $20 million reduced to practically nothing.

I have a friend who opted for early retirement, had quite a lot of money as he was and is still a bachelor and also careful with his money. He used to be short term traders for years and pretty much full time in stock market, KLSE and SGX. Every time I asked, he always say "very good". Lately he said he doesn't trade too often but only on selective counters. Also now saying good time to buy after crash due to SARS, Irag War, etc..I wonder what happen to his trading passions; but I do undetstand, despite all the goodies stories, the zero sum gain formula had probably forced itself in.

In the current KLSE, me, being a low risk investor, and had been waiting for major market crashes won't think twice to join the bandwagon of the prophets of doom..:). Maybe this is the time...the sign...that it is coming...hahaha.

Now when we the prophets of doom tell you to buy after the crash next time (provided that you survive the major falls to come), do follow because it will give you the opportunity to earn multiple profits, more than what some may make during their entire trading months or years.

Trade few times only is the rule but do it and win...buy low, sell high.buy 1 million of Maybank or any blue chip when it is rock bottom price...wait and sell to make 2 millions. Enough, right? Because you could trade for years, how many make 2 million profit?

Now time is money, since I am out of the market...let me continue selling my pisang goreng...small business but guarantee profit :))))

I am more inclined to agree with PureBull...F.E.A.R is good sometime! I am a strong believer that Market just doesn't crash without any warning; the only problem is that people always opt for self denial - happening everywhere in the world. The winners are the ones who know when to go in and when to get out. These winners of course include those gurus like Warren Buffet, etc....you may be wondering if he had sold...and yes he did many months ago. While the losers are people who "believe" they are right (which maybe true) and sucked up into such belief. The mistake is they forget that stock market is not about one is right, it is about the trend which is controlled by the mass. Because it is a mass controlled it very slow, need time to react, but it still gives strong indication irrespective of one belief. TA is basically based on the slow reaction by the mass of investors. Now, if pureBULL is a chartist and a good one at it, I have enough reasons to incline to agree to his "run" call.

If I read correctly KLCI main support is @ 1700 (refer to Barton's).1704 now....heard on radio yesterday, some analyst said technically nothing seems to suggest the reversal of KLSE trend....but we all know when it matters the unexpected does happen...here and there we currently see gloomy pictures painted on the walls. But this thing is slow...it starts with prophecies first, then some symptoms, then announcements, then disbelief, confused state of minds, then finally people start to tighten their underwears, some start to cut losses while others thought prices are cheap cheap they continue to buy, then the -ve gradually overpowerful the +ve, domino effect set in, then booom crash!! The regrets for not cutting losses...etc...or none of the above is true!
