This oil price drop affecting majority O&G companies that producing oil. The drop will take time to recover. May take 2 years or maybe more. The wise move is for SONA to drop the deal and to keep the cash. Later find another cheaper asset somewhere else.

Ophir Price now 148 pence / share benchmark against 203 pence/share on the offer value at £314m ( USD 493 ). Its about 27% drop. So the transaction value for Ophir offer also drop to £229m ( USD 360 ). Big drop in term of transaction value.
Current comparison based on Ophir share price 148pence /share:
Sona offer USD 281mil for only 40% interest Vs USD 360mil for Ophir for 100% interest.

If Ophir share price drop by 42% ( 117 pence/share ) then the transaction value of Ophir offer will be almost the same as Sona Offer. Sure Salamander rugi besar. hihi.

Actually anything can happen in any direction. It may also possible the Salamander director or shareholder to change mind if the oil keep dropping.
Based on the Ophir offer Salamander receive 0.5719 Ophir shares for each Salamander share. Therefore, the value of the transaction will drop if Ophir share price drop. Now at 164 pence/share as compare to more than 200 pence/ share before the offer. If oil price further drop the value of the transactions will also further drop significantly.As compare to Sona the transaction price is fix by cash in USD. So cannot change in term of the value.
If u want Salamader to change mind pray for oil to drop further. They may change their mind but if Sona get the QA, the projection of profit will also drop significantly due to oil price drop.
Anyhow suggest to avoid warrant to be safe.

Everything is not firm yet until Shareholder of Salamander to vote in their EGM. The have 2 offers to consider. If i'm them i will choose to sell everything in one package knowing if i just sell productive assets only i may have issue to sell unproductive assets later. Unless they still want to manage unproductive assets then it may be different story.
Sona price is below the guarantee refund price of RM 0.45 + Interest if no QA within 3 years. Therefore not much downside for the mother. Sona - wa price may have an impact.
I belief Sona management may have plan B if this QA cannot got through.
Im quite upset with long time taken by SC to give approval.It clearly have an impact to the direction of the QA whereby someone can come in and cut the deal during the waiting time of 3 months. Just my view only.

Sona offer USD 281.2 for [ B8/38 and G4/50] in cash while Ophir offer £314m ( USD 493 ) for whole assets belong to Salamander. Differences about USD 211? Mana mau cari lagi USD 211mil?

Sona purchase a very good asset actually [ B8/38 and G4/50]. Salamader also stupid if sell these asset while not selling other assets which are not profitable. That why when someone offer to buy whole assets they agree.
So close but yet so far. Let see Sona respond after this.

Based on my understanding yes. However in term of formality need to go through the process similar to Sona eg Approval from shareholder. It seem salamander shareholder don't want to sell part of the business but to sell all . They value Salamander 115.9p per share or £314m which is for me is fair if compare to current price.

Quite interesting development for Sona stock. Hope the QA still on although got other companies to kill Sona deal. SC ini pon satu macam lembab la. Haha.

Current volume too low. Wish to see high volume of transaction moving forward eg >100 mil. Then only can support uptrend price movement.

Sona should move up from now on. From date of SC application until today, the trend is going down and not as my expectation [ Reverse trend compare to Hibiscus ]. It seem investor not keen in SPAC in previous months. Hope with SC approval it will change the trend upward.

So far the price is uptrend from 0.47 till now but the volume still very low. Still have 2 months before SC make decision. Wait and see.

If got news, it is just announcement that Sona has submitted the application for SC approval. No big deal. What i'm interested is the trend of the share price from the date submission done till the date SC give approval.

After submission to SC for approval this counter should go uptrend till SC approval. If submission by next week (maybe), SC may take 2-2.5 month for approval. During this period of 2.5 month if the price didn't move up from current price then i think something is not right.
My opinion only.
