2017-11-13 11:44 | Report Abuse

3Q2017 result should be impressive. 4Q2016 was impressive too (EPS 40 sen with lower crack spread) but 4Q2017 should beat it anyway (due to higher crack spread)

there is no ugly surprise, that is for sure.

IVAN2222, structured call warrants and structured put warrants are issued by investment bank like Ambank, CIMB, Kenanga, Maybank, Macquarie and RHB.
For PETRONM-CD, as long as the mother share price is higher than the Exercise Price of RM8.50 at the time of expiry, PETRONM-CD has value and you get cash.
If the mother share price is lower than the Exercise Price of RM8.50 at the time of expiry, PETRONM-CD is worthless.

you can observe the warrants. If you see only 1 buyer or 1 seller, usually it is the market maker providing the Ask Price and Bid Price.

If you want to buy call warrant, your first choice is Petronm-CE, which is offered by Macquarie. Why?
1. lowest exercise ratio (10) - more sensitive to price change in mother share. In theory, each RM0.005 increase in warrant price requires its mother share to move RM0.075
Proof:

2. tight spreads - usually the difference between Bid Price and Ask Price is RM0.005
3. liquidity - very high liquidity (volume) offered by Macquarie
4. done a better job as a market maker - usually provide Ask and Bid Price and restore the volume so usually can sell back easily (to Macquarie)
5. more transparent - you are able to know how much your warrant worth for changes in mother share from the following links

If you want to buy call warrant, your first choice is HENGYUAN-CC (or HENGYUAN-CB), which is offered by Macquarie. Why?
1. lowest exercise ratio (6) - more sensitive to price change in mother share. In theory, each RM0.005 increase in warrant price requires its mother share to move RM0.05
Proof:

We all have done the homework. If we can not win with this counter, it is not our fault (insanely undervalued stock). Anyhow I advise keeping your faith!

sharegain, if I remember correctly, the crack spread jumped to 12 due to Hurricane Harvey. Now back to normal.
we usually refer to the graph at this web site:

maybe the stocks attracted the attention of very short term speculators the last 2 days. Some of them might not have the intention to pick up the shares (well, the share price is more than RM10!), thus the sell off yesterday. Seriously can not find a good reason for the sell off late yesterday
2017-10-04 16:47 | Report Abuse
strange sell off, must be herd mentality...

Jagkek321, you need to visit this web site:
https://www.malaysiawarrants.com.my/tools/warrantsearch
The exercise ratio of Hengyuan-CH is 12. In theory, that means it will up 1 sen for every increase of 12 sen in Hengyuan. Also, the expiry date for Hengyuan-CH is end of June next year. Plenty of time left so it is less sensitive to price change in Hengyuan.
That is why Hengyuan-CB or Hengyuan-CC are more sensitive to price change of the mother share compared to Hengyuan-CH.

the market maker of Petronm-CD is doing a very bad job. As a market maker, it is supposed to make buying and selling easier. They should set the Bid Price, Bid Volume, Ask Price and Ask Volume. It seems to me that after they sell you the warrants, they are not willing to buy back from you. RHB is really terrible as a market maker.

Choose the warrants offered by Macquarie whenever possible. Usually their warrants offer the lowest exercise ratio (which means their warrants are more responsive for price change in mother share). At their web site, they have a option called Live Matrix. They are transparent and let you know what to expect:

tough to find stocks that are insanely undervalue like Hengyuan and Petronm. My recommendation if you can afford them

free2invest, I was referring to the big blocks of shares sold just now. I wish the selling would continue as it might help to reduce the resistance at higher prices. Although I disagree with your decision to sell before the weekends, I understand and respect your decision.
