Take PWORTH as an example, it offered 2 RI @0.05 and a bonus issue for every mother share. On the ex-date, mother share closed at 0.20, making the new share valued at (0.2 + 0.05*2)/4 = 0.075. PWORTH keeps going down since Jul to 0.04 as of today. Subscribing to RI is risky, we need to fork out more $$$ and must wait long long for the price to go up; yet before it goes up, first it will go down a lot

Malaysia's largest oil and gas services company Sapura Energy Bhd said today it would sell a 50 percent stake in its upstream business to Austria's OMV.
The proposed deal is based on an enterprise value of US$1.6 billion, Sapura said, adding the companies have agreed to continue talks on an exclusive basis.
Sapura shares rose as much as 4.5 percent after the announcement, which comes weeks after the firm said it was planning to raise RM4 billion (US$963.86 million) through a proposed rights issue, in a bid to boost its financial position and pare down debt.
"We have explored all options including the potential listing of our upstream business," Shahril Shamsuddin, Sapura's president and CEO, said in a statement.
"The invitation to enter into this strategic partnership with a leading oil and gas player serves our goals and aspirations better while providing certainty in timing and valuation," Shahril said.
Sapura has a market capitalisation of about US$484.5 million, while OMV has a valuation of about US$16.9 billion, Thomson Reuters data shows.
Last week, OMV's head of exploration and production, Johann Pleininger, told Reuters in an interview it had plans to expand its exploration business with an acquisition in Southeast Asia by the end of 2018.
Earlier this year, the Austrian firm expanded its operations in New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates, to balance geopolitical risks it faces in its operations in countries like Russia, Libya and Yemen.
OMV has set aside €10 billion for acquisitions until 2025.
Sapura's Shahril said the strategic partnership with OMV will complement its continued strategy "to grow our portfolio and expand our acreage position".
"The partnership will sharpen Sapura Energy's competitive advantage by leveraging on the strength of its portfolio of commercially viable gas fields offshore Sarawak and its acreage in new markets in New Zealand, Gulf of Mexico and most recently, Australia," Shahril said.
Sapura reported a loss in the quarter ended April, its third consecutive quarterly loss.

I did once for PWORTH. Nothing was paid, the OR just appeared automatically in my account. However, I didn't sell it, that's the part I am unsure about

@spinninglotus: sure kah, OR is so worthless kah? In the PWORTH-OR case, RI is 0.05 and still can be sold at 0.05

after the listing, the RI will be the same as mother share already and won't be called RI anymore, again, unless mentioned otherwise

if you have done RI many times, you should know that after the Ex-date, we will be given our OR entitlement in our account which can be sold or you can also buy from other people before the subscription cut-off date. In my previous questions, I was referring to OR when mentioned about RI.

@risktransformer: Back to the question on RI subscription again, if RI is sold in the open market before listing at RM0.20, yet I still have to pay RM0.30 upon listing, why would I care selling it? Might as well just ignore.... Just couldn't get the hang of the whole RI thingy... advice advice please please...
huatchye @risktransformer thanks.
Let say I bought 3000 @0.60 = RM1,800 weeks back and sell all now at 0.34 = RM1,020; my loss is RM780.
If I hold on till the RI, I will be entitled 5000 shares at 0.30. If at that point, people really sipek no shiok with this counter and only willing to buy at 0.20, then I sell all my mother shares and RI at 0.20 = RM1,600. My loss is RM200.
If my calculation is right, then why people still want to dump their shares now like no tomorrow?
Anyone please enlighten....
06/09/2018 13:58
risktransformer @huatchye: U will actually lose RM2,000 if like that. U forgot to include the RI cost of RM1,500.
06/09/2018 14:08
huatchye Oops! Do I still have to subscribe if RI sold before listing?
06/09/2018 14:12
risktransformer Yes, it's RM1,700 loss (keyed in number carelessly) but if plus commission, it will b more than RM1,700 loss.

If the RI proposal were approved and mother share closes at 0.34, any idea how much are people willing to buy the RI from the open market? 0.3? 0.2? or 0.01?

Translation:
Supposed you bought 3000 shares at 0.60, you have invested RM1,800.
The proposal says "The rights issue will be priced at 30 sen each on the basis of five rights shares for every three shares held and one free warrant for every 10 rights shares."
You have to prepare RM0.30 * 5000 = RM1,500 to buy the RI, and receive free 500 warrant
Then, every 5 shares, you can buy 2 shares of RCPS-i at RM0.41, so you'll pay RM0.41 x 1200 = RM492
That means after you paid RM1,800 for the mother share, you will pay additional RM1,992 to subscribe to the RI and RCPS-i, to receive 500 free warrant.

After the shouting, can we get back to the reality and make some calculations? Can any sifu advice if the proposal were to go through, what will the calculation be?
The proposal says "The rights issue will be priced at 30 sen each on the basis of five rights shares for every three shares held and one free warrant for every 10 rights shares."
Let's say the share closes at 0.40 before right issue,
3 shares of SAPNRG = 1.20
5 shares of SAPNRG-OR = 0.3 * 5 = 1.50
So, each share of SAPNRG worths = (1.20 + 1.50) / 8 = 0.3375
What about the warrant?
Please advice and my calculation could be wrong.
