I am bearish on BAT, but didn't expect it to drop so much so fast. People dare to short at 8.11.

If switch to Maybank or HLI like DividendGuy suggested, now already earn money. I suspect the one who always making buy call don't really own BAT. He is here to mislead people.

After dividend, rm9.1 will be the ceiling for 2024.

Rough estimate, KLK contributes 2/3 of the net income for Bkawan. So net profit generated by BKawan itself is 163m.

If not mistaken, large portion of the 491m is only paper profit from KLK. Since KLK didn't declare dividend this quarter, BKawan don't really have so much cash to pay dividend unless they use their reserve. This stock earned me the first 100% profit many years ago, at that time the net profit/dividend quite consistent. The past few quarters really disappointing. Luckily found Utdplt recently.

Net profit for 2023 only 235.3m + 120.05m + 82.81m + 52.75m = 490.91m

This stock has a lot of reserve but we ikan bilis can only see but can not touch. What's the use ?

The EPS dropping so much for the past few quarters. Even if they pay 90 cents, it's not sustainable. Better switch to Utdplt.

@DividendGuy, very difficult to ask people to cut loss and move on especially those who DCA from 14-15.

I would rather listen those who cut loss than those who keep chanting buybuybuy everyday at almost any price. If they can talk up the share price, BAT should be more than RM20 now. Blame short sellers, IB, call warrants, CEO and etc is not going to help. The fundamental of BAT is weak, that's why people shorted it. BTW, BAT was once rated for stock with the most consistent earnings in Bursa, followed by BKawan. But that is history.

DCA on a downtrend stock is a big NO. Hold and look out for other stocks. Cut loss and switch to other stocks on bad market days. Don't let past track records and ego blind your judgement.

@MOBAjobg today triple witching day, you wish to collect at RM9.2x may come true. Just be patient and wait until pre-close.

The recent QR for most plantation stocks not so good eg. ioi, simeplt. Except Utdplt.

One more quarterly report EPS below 20 cents, today's price could be the ceiling for the rest of the year.

Poor results. Better stay away from this stock.

I think market overreacted on the news. If not mistaken, the factories in Melaka and Johor is not part of the listed Panasonic Manufacturing.

Maybank won't collapse. But what happened in US and Europe affect a lot of companies. A more likely scenario is provision for bad debts going up and dividend slashed.

Bonds in US and Europe were at inflated prices for so many years. It's a time bomb.
