@calvintaneng, plantations land in Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Sumatra, East Timor n East Papua r all on land lease with d Indonesia's govt! they r not for sale but allowed takeover (if they failed or r not genuine developer) by another company with d consent of BUPATI, Indonesia. Those plantations land cultivated by WILMA, KLK, TSH, UMCCA n others foreign countries r all firstly given HGU (Had Guna Usaha) by BUPATI (local provincial govt) for oil palm cultivations. There r sets of agreements like developing PLASMA land (oil palm land for local farmers/rakyat) n CSR's commitments eg. building roads/bridges for locals. Once they succeeded to plant large hectares of oil palm land, they need to obtain a land lease agreement (10yrs to 25 yrs/1st n 2nd generations oil palm crop) of d matured oil palm land subject to paying a fees to d provincial govt n likewise hv to do SED works eg, housing/schools n clinics for locals/rakyat. Eventually, they need to build a palm oil mill to process their own FFBs n to buy d locals FFBs (economy for d rakyat).

So, don't ever think d plantations companies owned d agriculture land or is their assets! they only leased from d provincial govt for their agriculture businesses to churn revenue n their profits! They also hv to pay fees n taxes for their activities n profits!

don't think VS n SKP can filled d voids/orders contracted by DYSON to ATA (imagine 80% of ATA's production), that's why they gave ATA 6 mths to comply! moreover, VS n SKP hv their current n new customers orders to fulfill! DYSON will eventually faced big difficulty to meet their customers orders! maybe will plead n goes back to ATA but at higher ASP!

i see DYSON is mostly at fault in this development! they reacted too harshly from d pressure of Andy Hall n from d labour activists, IDK, in UK n Singapore! they have lost a major supplier by doing so! However, they r not totally inconsiderate on their decision to terminate ATA's contract as they give ATA until June 2022 to resolve d matters! Whatever happened, ATA will have to pick-up from where they had fallen!

Outcome:
DYSON will lose more to get another major supplier like ATA!
ATA will surely find new customers to replace DYSON!
More competitors for DYSON on vacuums cleaners, purifiers n other EMS products arising from these tussles!

normally, d rules n regulations r spelt in d contract agreement whether it's for individual or employed thru' agents such as living conditions eg. basic housing provided, working conditions eg. overtime to meet production, etc...! if they disagreed dey don't signed! dey cannot demands what is not spelt in d agreement upon taking up d employment! d unions n govt should not interfered n sided d workers for wrongdoings!

irresponsible foreign workers must b terminated n sent back to their country! d unions n govt must not played to d wits n fancies of these foreign workers! dey must hv done something wrong to b reprimanded!
