do choose d right company as not all plantation stocks r safe even when CPO price is trading above RM7000 per ton! years prior to d current CPO bull-run, a lot of plantation companies r not doing well with high debts, shortages of harvesters n poor ffb production due to low CPO price around RM2,800 to RM3,400 per ton giving rise to management decisions of abandoning fields upkeep/management, low ffb harvesting round per month/year n foregoing manuring! don't b surprised these affected companies r just recovering financially as u can study from their quarterly financial report!

Sorry... found a mistake just now. Most of the operating payment (656 m) should be operating expenses that appear in the income statement (586 m). But just under this line in cash flow statement there is 167 m for "(Placement)/recovery of deposits in derivative operations". I think this 167 m is the major part of the cash outflow compared to balance sheet as at 31st Dec. This 167m adds to the receivable (because it is recoverable).

The reason why capital gain over 2 years and 1 year period from investing in UP, IOI, Simeplant and even KLK is so much lower than the small and midsize plantations is now very obvious!
I shall remain focus on the small and midsize plantations like SOP, Taann, Bplant, HSplant, cepat, MHC, swkplant, Thplant. These plantations will reap the highest return from the high and increasing CPO trend.

KUALA LUMPUR (April 25): Plantation stocks on the local bourse dominated the top gainer list on Monday morning (April 25) as Indonesia’s move to ban palm oil exports is seen to benefit Malaysian planters.
Analysts said on Monday that Malaysian crude palm oil (CPO) producers are potential winners amid Indonesia's palm oil export ban.
CGS-CIMB analyst Ng Lee Fang expects CPO prices in Malaysia to rise significantly and potentially surge to new record highs due to panic buying by consumers if the temporary ban lasts more than four weeks.
