Haha everybody wants better returns and doubt would let go opportunity. I check and found that yesterday the big push was from EPF.

@pang72 Got a feeling wont be able to get at 9.52, cause usually the big boys orders already keyed into queue by brokers on the same evening before ex date after market closed. Unless ex date it falls below 9.53 due to pressure short selling, from experience ex date for Harimau usually takes off quite fast at start of trading day. IMO I also understand that short sellers only short stocks which see falling prices. they usually never short a stock with rising price. It will be suicide for them. Also, they would want to grab all cheap stocks before retail buyers can do so too.

Definitely, also the buy rate 45% is low at the moment means got chance for upswing. also if price ex-date above 9.50 I would have gain too.

ooh... looks like 9.81 support level is breaking up?

@stkoay, I parked 109 lots at 9.80 only 4 lots matched so far. Hopefully by closing can get the remainder. Following your lead for self DRIP and restructuring my asset portfolio :-) Cheers

For me if the price keepa dropping further, I'll prepare to top up when the price os right as for me this is a dividend stock to me. Until then I'll enjoy my Harimau shares which is climbing higher everyday. Btw that one also I am earning DY at least 7%

Any simpleton who doesn't do their own research or homework and being lazy just rely on others advice must be just a gambler who doesn't risk any amount s/he can't afford to lose. Who can say the price predicted will go up and down is correct or not? HL predicted TP rm5.15 recently. If it doesn't reach rm5.15, will you all sue them? Aiyoh, why all so triggered if price fall due to profit taking, consolidation, etc? If you trust this stock buy it if not don't or just sell yours. No need to offer unsolicited advise unless requested. Like they say, our money our decision la. Your money your decision lo. Even of the stock drops below rm1 tomorrow I won't sell even if it's just a small paper profit for me as my DY is still above 7%. Relax laaa

Great results from YTLP, indeed as expected.
@Dragon328, can you share your thoughts whether if foreign funds are main buyers and our local currency continue to fall to new depths, won't the 'gains' from increase in share price be negated for them? In the longer term unless there is a more positive economic outlook towards Malaysia and hence the Ringgit performance over the other major currrency, it would be a volatile market as foreign funds will treat this as a trading ground to pump and dump to make quick gains?
IMO, Caveat Emptor comes to mind.

Unless YTLP issues bonus issues like previously in 2014, 2017, 2020. So based on this will they also issue Treasury shares soon? Who knows.

@Agjl, funny i was thinking about the same question too the other day.
I came to conclusion that when the day comes and the price hits rm5.15, assuming no change in dividend payout, I would roughly have paper gain equivalent to approximately 114 years of forward dividend immediately.
I would then diversify all my YTLP portfolio park all proceeds in EPF and max my dividend.
Meanwhile I would wait for next opportunity to buy YTLP on the dip again.

EPF is trading actively over past few weeks... I bet they are trying their best to also generate profits as they will be releasing the 2023 dividend returns by March. Meanwhile all of us are anticipating a healthy 32 sens as well. win-win on both fronts. GG

@stkoay Yes agreed. Nevertheless always happy to see Harimau wake up again. It was so slow until I stopped looking at it. If this continues, hopefully it can stay around the 9.50 mark. it's time for this stock to set a new high.

Finally! some action.. looking good at 9.22.. falling asleep due to not much movement. Maybe this is in anticipation of the second interim dividend likely to be announce end Feb as per last few years. I'll be careful as fund managers can also be starting to set traps for bilis to 'chase high'. I am surprise if much upward movement in price this year seeing likelyhood of BNM rising rates to be very slim in view of easing inflationary pressures and mirroring Fed Reserve. What do you all think?

@calvintaneng, Sorry but if plantation stocks so good, please go ahead and buy as much as you need. No need to go to every forum to sing this and that until blue bro. I am pretty sure many brothers here who can afford to buy shares have a bit of common sense and at lease makes informed decisions. We also know that plantation stocks are seasonal and prices go up as well as go down. Just continue to promote at your blog and if you are correct every time, people will follow you and buy based on your blog. Case in point, look at dragon328 here at YTLP, his views are admired for his knowledge and forumers here follow him willingly. If you are good, people will recognised and act accordingly. #justsaying.

Thanks for sharing. I guess I already missed many opportunities as was complecent and didn't monitor the stock to see the potential upside with all those collaboration until too late.
I personally feel that RE will be here to stay as NETR is being rolled out at least in the next t 3 to 5 years for Malaysia and the new IPO closing on 18 Jan Master Tec has peaked my interest once again to look closer into this industry.
Under the Yeoh family leadership I am confident that they will achieve new heights. I am also mindful of the new 'distribution' stage when a new dip will be formed on the way to the next summit climb. The next QR will be announced in May 24 and wondering if should look into add now or after the dip. Based on previous pattern by company, they may diluted the shares further by issuing bonus shares like previous years? what are the odds for this to happen? Also what I remember is that one of the directors sold off 2.2M shares in Dec 2023. So am a bit puzzle on this move. EPF also sold off 22M each in May 23.
Btw FYI based on last week MIB webinar, the analyst foresee next resistance level at 3.85

I also forsee that banking stocks will not gain much this year as well as BNM would be unlikely to raise rates.. The Feds will not raise anytime soon due to huge budget USD30+ trillion expected this year.. the US also may not get the congress approval to continue funding its overseas campaign in middle east as well as eastern Europe. So yeah I expect the rates to at least maintain into 2024. Which would be less favorable to Banking stocks as it has no push momentum unless something unforeseeable happens

@stkoay buying between huge funds normal as they want to deprieve retailers from hoarding also their mandate requires them to trade in only big cap stocks. Selling for gains normal for various reasons including dividend declaration and window dressing among others I guess.

looking at the volume over the past few days, the rise in price is supported by consistent high volume to support the price whereas if you noticed when short lived profit taking or distribution phase, there was weak volume which I presume to be a 'false/fake bear'. usually false/fake bear is the 'testing' phase by fund managers to see if market will sell. for more info, check out the technical charting in klse screener.

When i saw the price dropped by RM0.10 this morning I knew that the drop wont be long before it goes up again. Typical tactic of Fund Managers shaking the coconut trees for weak fruits to fall i.e. knee jerk profit taking by retail investors. I like profit taking to exists because it sets a new price point for resistance level. Sooo..... to quick profit minded investors, please continue to panic and sell your shares :-)

Received this email from my solar panel installer.. the potential upside to more demand for RE and/electricity, perhaps more home charging for RV in coming years with increase in demand. Looks positive too for Toyota and Proton. Spillover benefits to MBMR and UMW too!
‐----------------------------‐-------
Dear xxx,
If you have ever considered switching your car to one that runs on electricity, then the following would be interesting for you!
Did you know that Proton, our Malaysia's national carmaker, is targeting to launch its first EV in 2025? Toyota Malaysia also plans to follow suit and enter the electric space in the next few years. This is in line with our Government’s goal of having 1.5 million EVs on the road by 2040.
How it is going so far
The Electric Vehicle (EV) market in Malaysia is relatively small but growing rapidly. According to the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA), 2,717 EVs were sold in 2021, a significant increase from the 1,642 units sold in 2020. 💁🏻♀️🚘
EVs are also becoming more affordable. BYD, the vertically-integrated Chinese EV automaker (largest EV maker in the world) has entered the Malaysian market offering affordable EV options such as the Dolphin model and the popular SUV Atto 3 model.
Challenges and opportunities
Government can already see that demand for electric vehicles (EVs) will far outstrip that of internal combustion engine (ICE) cars within its 2023-2032 forecast period.
"We currently forecast total EV sales to quadruple in 2023."
The upfront cost of EVs are still higher than gasoline-powered cars in many cases. However, this cost is expected to come down over time as battery technology improves and economies of scale are achieved.
Another challenge is the availability of charging infrastructure. While we are estimated to have more than 1,200 charging stations in Malaysia, there is still room for improvement. Under the Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint, the Government plans to install 10,000 charging stations by 2025.
