Calvintan...hahaha... don't be like this la, you r like my little brother, when lose that time, merajuk and hope other people lose...
I always say, what differentiate the wise and the fool is when to SELL.
You sold at a low point, you are the fool, simple as that. The Wise is the one who knows when to SELL

In 2017, we expect some job flows, namely Bokor enhanced oil recovery (EOR) wellhead platform EPCC and Hibiscus North Sabah EOR contract for the fabricators, but this would not be sufficient to bring substantial recovery for local contracts. Other production service players are expected to see mild improvements in 2017 but the expected earnings growth does not warrant a rerating

Upstream oil producers (such as SapuraKencana Petroleum Bhd, Reach Energy Bhd and Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd) would be the prime beneficiary of improvement in oil prices on higher oil revenue and earnings. However, the drilling market in Malaysia would still be oversupplied in 2017 with 11 rigs owned by listed companies alone (Perisai Petroleum Teknologi Bhd and UMW Oil & Gas Corp Bhd), of which about half of them are still idle at this juncture.

This is not similar to IFSCAM. IFSCAM had no backing. They move so high up into UNCHARTED territory. Hibiscus come down from RM2.6. average trading at >RM1. This is charted territory. Hibiscus had been there and will be there.
Secondly, IFSCAM offer no solid reason for the run up to RM1.80 except some contract wins. Hibiscus is ACQUARING company at cheap price and at the best possible moment.
When do you buy property in penang? When the market is all time high? Of course NO. You buy in 2008/2009 and keep till now. when u first buy, second year make huge profit? Of course no. U start profiting after 3-5 years manageing your property.
Don't just look into balance sheet. Even Warren Buffet move away from purely reading balance sheet. Buy into growth. That's the key but it come with risks.
God bless

I like Calvin work cos he study the balance sheet. Which I also do and I had said in the very beginning, the net profit is due to tax and impairment, not operating.
BUT, what is exactly hibiscus worth? The Fair Value? 3 things u can use to evaluate
1. NTA
2. EPS/PE
3. Operating cash flow
Calvin obviously had sold his stock and try to spook investors here with the balance sheet. I already say I had gone thru the balance sheet before I buy.
So what is investor buying into? Hibiscus is turning into a full fledge oil and gas company. They had done their first successful and "profitable" company at a very very tough and competitive environment with zero debt. Not good enough? ok, how about they are going to buy another company that will move the company NTA to RM1?
Congrats, its RM0.52 already. Lets keep on moving.

Thanks Calvin for the information. It's good info. What is ur email address

That's also why if the north sabah deal is not successful.. I'll sell. If it's successful....u just need to ride it til 0.80 - 1.00.. then see oil price n profit n revenue to make next decision.
Just my opinion. Trade at own risks
2017-01-12 08:21 | Report Abuse
Calvin..i like ur method. What is ur email address if u don't mind?
I believe the current momentum in hibiscus is it's growth. Remember.. this is a SPAC company. They need to acquire oil n gas business n grow. To generate profit n revenue. That's how the company will only grow in share price
2017-01-12 08:15 | Report Abuse
Actually Calvin had his point. I've gone thru the financial report as well. The net profit is not the actual operating net profit. It includes the tax n impairment. Almost no debt.. very good. Quick ratio about 0.6 .. not bad
Cash on hand.. not bad..i believe hibiscus is a bit pricy if we r just talking about anasuria.. but we r not. We r talking about getting another oil business at cheap price from shell. If only anasuria.. I'll say hibiscus at 0.50 is high enough for profit taking. Highest 0.60. With another business in the pocket.. wow...
Secondly.. private placement n fund r needed for growth. For acquisition. If u look into oil n gas balance sheet..u will die of heart attack. High gearing... cement high. Making losses... perisai went kaput cos of high debt. Many do not have enough cash. Hibiscus positive cash n no debt n positive profit (on paper)... that's y i want to see Feb report
2017-01-11 22:43 | Report Abuse
a lot here hit n run. That is why they say other ppl will start sell, this is con stock la, this la, that la...cos most of them are hit n run.
No worries, I am here until the Feb quarterly report (which is going to be excellent Q over Q) and/or the acquisition of north Sabah EOR.
I don't set target by 10% or 20% or at what price. Once the both or either one news out, then will decide

Or look at Gadang, EcoWorld, GDex, how the company can grow
2017-01-11 17:15 | Report Abuse
Actually I just simply write RM2 or RM1.5. The point is never underestimate how high or how low a stock price can go. Perisai RM1.8 to RM0.045, Hibiscus RM2.6 to RM0.14
2017-01-11 17:09 | Report Abuse
a few years ago, I bought MPI at RM3. That time I calculated that the stock should worth RM7. But I sold at RM5 cos I think impossible to go so high. Last year it hit RM10. 3.3x higher than my buying price.
Today I bought at RM0.475. 3.3x = RM1.5
So my point is, don't be afraid to set a high TP. but also don't be too bold to say it wont drop to 0.05. REmember hibiscus once traded at RM2.6

Woodswater Dear kakashi , that y I buy u more than Hibiscs . ?? don't get it..haha..

That's y I scolded stockmanny, say this is con stock, hit n run not need see EPS, etc
Of course u need to see EPS, PE and NTA. 3 basic fundamental. If no see, then u see oil price move USd1 USD2? With the new acquisition, NTA at RM1. Easy calculation. IF oil price move up, EPS will move up. Another calculation.
So once petroliam say YES, then we start to monitor oil price and how the company manage its costs and financial ratio (gearing if got, capital expendicture, operating cash flow, etc)
2017-01-11 13:00 | Report Abuse
Wow...hahaha...I just back for lunch, RM0.50 !!! Nice nice
So far so good...who sold today ah? hahaha... sorry to laugh but I have to laugh
anyway, why got spook by the day to day oil price? wait for the acquisition ma, that's the catalyst...no point see oil price so closely. Once acquired, RM1 is coming. then oil price will determine how much anasuria and north Sabah earn, that time we only monitor the oil price.
2017-01-11 11:01 | Report Abuse
I think they roughly had found a floor price, USD50/barrel
hehe, u r right, phychological warfare...the price will judge who is the winner
2017-01-11 10:45 | Report Abuse
woodswater, a slightly different opinion....the oil good news is not fully price in. there are still skeptical. That is why u don't see a strong rally in O&G counters. Just some rebound.
The only difference now is which company has the financial muscle to wade thru this time. U just need to look at their cash flow from operations and their gearing. These 2 will tell u which company can or cannot survive. Contracts are already slowing down especially on the upstream
2017-01-11 10:00 | Report Abuse
which poor guy sold today again? got panic cos oil price drop 4% and then 2% again today right? USD53 already.
This kind of trading wont work. jumping around wont work. imagine u setting up hibiscus with the CEO...then tomorrow, u tell the CEO, hey, I think I dotn want to set up this company anymore, I want go set up technology company this time
2017-01-11 08:40 | Report Abuse
Franklim, USD50, US shale already start production. The number of riggs already increased. that's why oil price start to drop again. Their cost to extract oil is about USD30 I think, not so efficient compare to middle east countries.
2017-01-10 22:42 | Report Abuse
By mid of this year they need to finalise the purchase
2017-01-10 21:34 | Report Abuse
Nope, I didn't sell, like I say, I am not interested in today or tomorrow's oil price. I am interested in petroliam giving the approval for hibiscus to purchase the north Sabah EOR. That will be the catalyst. Oil price support level, USD50 and USD55.
Roy is a useless guy. making losses and try to make useless remark. ignore him.
Everyone here almost double up the investment. I still got long way to go, bought a bit matured into the game d. So...nonetheless, so far so good...unless some shocking news or ansuria posted net loss, then susah d

2017-01-10 16:26 | Report Abuse
Dont look at today, wait for petroliam nasional to approve the purchase from Shell of the North Sabah EOR. That will be the catalyst. Then 50% will be hibiscus, 50% petroliam. Coupled with election, sky is the limit, finger cross
So pray hard that petroliam approve the acquisition, Or someone please contact petroliam and bring them out for nasi kandar

"He said operating expenditure per barrel of oil equivalent (boe) for Anasuria Cluster was about US$20 (RM88.80). Hibiscus chairman Zainul Rahim Mohd Zain said the group would be comfortable if the oil price stays above US$40 per barrel. Brent crude oil futures were trading at US$54.55 per barrel yesterday."
USD20 cost to produce 1 barrel. So when I say we are good above USD50, small oil price fluctuation dont warrant a buy or sell.
USD20 per barrel is pretty efficient. Most arab countries are around that price. US probably higher up to USD30. that's why when oil hit USD27, many US shale oil stop business

Guys...nice bo? Who panic and sell this morning when oil drop to USD55?
like I say, look at its PE, EPS, NTA, then u can gauge much better. The past 2 quarters earning are not the core earning cos it includes the TAX defferement and Impairment. So, I am also still guesing what is the real EPS here. Nonetheless, I believe its a growing company. Imagine buying a Oil and Gas company at the best time ever (worst oil price), racking in profit during the lowest oil price in 10 years (USD 27). Give it 2-3 years down the road with other potential acquisition...hmmmm...
Not to mention its debt free ! where do you find debt free O&G? Now banking sectors get hit cos O&G companies cant pay them money for Loan... Loan Impairment is hitting banks big time.
To gauge, NTA now is about 0.60, another potential acquisition might bring it to RM1. So guys, don't sell just because oil price drop USD2. Look at the bigger picture

elitetrader, nobody can foresee the future but they are advising public to "aggressively collect perisai stock". They use the exact statement time over time over time again.
No idea on their TP for perisai now. You working in CIMB?
Haha, incrediblethings, normal behavior of people right? Anyway, hibiscus is the only successful SPAC, manage to purchase a company. If the shareholders are serious, then its a good time cos oil price depressed, companies are much cheaper and potential to grow.
nonetheless, 0.475 now I look at it, a bit pricy d ..hmmmm..
Anyway, Hovid can be a good day trade, hehe...careful of falling knives
