personally i think Benalec is still a bit on the high side for me even after such drastic drop in price. but will monitor this stock now! the reward would be well worth its risk!

interest read. boils down to if the US raise debt rates and by how many basis point. it has a point. with so much debt flushed into NYSE (i understand to the tune of US$500b), a rise in rates will see outflow pretty fast!

I am about to re -enter skpres for the third time. If it goes below 32 sens, why not! Let RHB's FV come then!
Good luck to you nightfly. Indeed, there may be other stock that is better investment!
2013-12-01 04:33 | Report Abuse
Anbz, if make trap the owner would have allowed price to run. Most analysts had FV at 50+ sens then. But the Gan family always seem to cap it below 40 sens due to their current massive 80% holdings. Why?
2013-12-01 04:20 | Report Abuse
No problem if your friend knows something and you following his tip to share with all! So far, skpres has been overly reliant on Dyson and that is a major concern for many analysts. Your friend may have a point if management doesn't do something about it!
Personally I think its a blip in the earnings! Awaiting for more news!

I have been holding this stock since 2008. The owner quite generous this year .. Give a lot dividend n bonus . This a real stock ... Not a "main" or goreng stock. If the way they going right now ... I think more surprise is coming too
--------------
not to doubt you as i think you are sincere in sharing, but earlier post is owner quite generous. suddenly, your post today that same owner now stingy. so which is which?
any particular news about the last report is welcomed.

Why buy a disastrous company, BsB? I thought you had a burning candle analogy here? Or you have forgotten? LoL

anyway, just to return the favor, i think it has a potential upside towards 74 sens from my estimate. just a quick glance at the numbers. but have to check the balance sheet in and company's ventures in details before can speak more!

which of course means, not that they don't want to increase their flights but is impeded from doing so due to lack to capacity from the airport! LCCT2 will be a game changer, together with Indonesian IPO and the advent of AA India! 2014, here we come! :)
2013-11-29 12:25 | Report Abuse
interesting from amywo's given article, i didnt really think of that:
AirAsia is limited to flight capacity because congestion in lcct airport currently!
The bank-backed research firm added that AirAsia's growth was relatively low at 10.1 per cent year-on-year and constituted 18 per cent of the total industry growth. The low growth is said to be due to congestion at the low-cost carrier terminal.

Japan is one of the rare countries being hit by two decades of deflation, with superhigh savings and minimal govt spendings. Abenomics is aimed to increase inflation with their massive stimulus package. if this works, the bull could probably extend to the whole of next year easily because Japanese base is strong here in Malaysia. signs are positive at the moment. can we really see a sustain of a higher high, now that is the multi billion question!

everything has to come back to an equilibrium. Malindo cannot afford to throw prices anymore as guessed by analysts if they are to avoid financial ruin in the long run! it was a good intro by parlaying super cheap rates as promo, but how do you sustain it forever?

i believe it is. then again, i cannot predict the future. i know the DCF valuation will not say it as its forward looking, but if you look at the book value to price, there are no more margin of safety. wrong time to buy in, but those who bought when it was in its 1xx-2.xx range, you can always keep for its consistent, and may i add, growing dividends.
FYI i see a bull trend next year, but then with everyone just waiting to dump at a moment's notice for mention of bear returning, its anybody's guess!

teddy, didn't buy so cannot comment too much juz to be fair, can only suggest u DO NOT sell profitable counter for losing one. u can consider divide your holding into 4 parts and decide in the following T3+1, end of each day maybe, be real decisive.
there's always a next time, no worry.
good advice

The research further opined that it was optimistic on Benalec’s latest land reclamation as it showed some progress on its Johor land development, which had been long overdue since its initial approval in principle from Unit Perancangan Ekonomi Negeri (Upen), Johor back in November 2011 due to a prolonged Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) studies.
Additionally, it highlighed, “Given the massive project size of 1,000 acres and an assumed reclamation cost of RM2.4 billion over four years, we believe that Benalec will need to gear up further by at least another RM180 million per annum to execute the project assuming that the project is based on a progressive payment basis rather than on a build- than-sell basis.
“This will bring up its net gearing from 0.03-fold to 0.36-fold for the first year, which is still at a comfortable level.”
-------------
This was a report in march 14th, so I think work in progress may have taken a bite at earnings.
If it is not so, then something is seriously wrong with management, something which I don't believe so, despite a bust-up recently
2013-11-27 10:24 | Report Abuse
I have not read the report, but the quarterly results were not entirely unexpected. Chief most in my mind is maybe their land reclamation work has started?

"Several important lessons have emerged from this recent global financial crisis. The first relates to the exponential expansion of the financial system which did not commensurate with the expansion in economic activities.
"This has resulted in a significant disconnect between the financial sector and its role in serving the economy. A number of factors contributed to the weakening of the link between financial intermediation and productive economic activities," she said.

maybe this is why S&P downgrades Malaysian banks.
