It is best to look for a stock when it is in an uptrend mode. Why? Because uptrend means there are increasing buyers and volume. The stock is attracting buyers. There are fundamental reasons for this. Strong financial performance both annually and quarterly make a good case to buy a stock.

Make a list of the stocks you like to watch. For example Magni-tech, POS, Padini, Kronologi

Then study the fundamentals of these companies you are interested in. Once they meet the criteria for selection you watch the stock chart for buying signals.

What criteria will make it reasonable to include a stock in your watch list?

1. ROIC above 10%
2. Earnings Yield (Ebit/EV) or 1/PER of 12% or higher
3. Free cashflow is positive and uptrend

Then it is a matter of buying a good stock at the right time so you can capture profits early and not at too expensive price.

Chart with the following indicators:
1. Ichimoku (default setting)
2. ADX (14)
3. Stochastic (12,3,3)
4. MACD (default setting)

What to look for:
1. Wait for the price to cross above the ichimoku cloud
2. Wait for ADX to confirm the uptrend
3. Wait for moving average to cross (buy signal)
4. Confirm the buy signal with stochastic rising from over sold
5. Bullish candlestick signal
6. Price and volume rising
7. Breaks above the previous day's high

Example : look at POS and Ecowld chart and wait for signals

Government-Linked corporations are companies listed in the bursa KLCI which are having a strong influence by government. Some of these stocks you can look at are George Kent, Maybank, Tenaga, Telekom, Gamuda, CIMB. You can also check the stock share holdings to see who are the top 10 investors. For this you go to www.bursamarketplace.com, you want to see KWSP and any other govt institutions among the investors.

TNLog fails my fundamental checklist metrics. Latest quarter is also lower than previous Qtr. The only good observation is price is nearing the resistance so traders can wait for breakout opportunity. Risk 20sen to make only 4 sen profit?

The chart from Jan 2016 is all the way falling down until today. If company can recover next year will be good. But will the business sustain? Is there a merger coming? Will management make changes to deal with the problems?

nylex is 0.04 eps, multiple of 10 times PE is 0.40 so it is now PE 15 times.

nylex breaks out of resistance on 1/8 and now closed 0.605, will it touch 0.70?

Price has bottom off and seem to reversing now. I think many investors like to consider this counter again since margin of safety is > 30%.

The concern is the negative FCF and CFO, where is the money going out? Are they paying huge bonus to the directors?

Cash per share 0.37, Debt per share 0.00, NCAV 0.58 but FCF per share -0.10. Revenue and net income are strong. Will p/ncav drop below 0.63? ROIC is low, Ev/ebit is low. Is there something wrong with this company? What does it do in financial services? How does it make its money?

The PER is high and P/BV is low. This is not a good combination. Both must be low to be attractive. This tells me the price is too high to get in now.

Quarterly performance has been up and down, dec qtr is lower than sep qtr. Perhaps expectation of strong march qtr performance?

Airlines are seldom turning a profit. It is high cash burning system. Imagine paying the pilot RM50,000 and you have 20 pilots, the monthly cost is 1 million already. The cost of the plane is RM200m each and you have 20 that is 2B added. It is funded by debt and how many passengers can you get. Well 20 planes that carry 200 passengers and make RM500 per passenger will churn out just RM 2,ooo,ooo. Not enough to pay for the planes I imagine. Check the ROIC and you can see a low number.

Previous quarter report announced 30/11/15. Next announcement will be end Feb or early Mar.

EPF selling off some shares to get cash to pay the dividends to employees fund.

There is a reason why a stock is valued very low price by the market players. Sanichi has price earnings ratio of 35 with only rm0.07 yesterday makes it expensive! So price will drop some more until below rm0.042. What is worrying is negative free cashflow consecutive past 4 years. Avoid this stock if you are wise!

market correction or crash comes suddenly if we are not carefully checking the trend and signals of the market. we had reached market high and the klci did not seem to go higher anymore. this can be taken as a warning, together with slowing world economy and other factors like oil, china, usa, russia, middle east and so on. china is very important and has a strong affect on every country. we want china to do well otherwise our market will not improve. from 1800 the index is now around 1580.
