Inflation concerns and a weaker dollar
Markets are now increasingly worried about inflation returning as a result of historic fiscal spending and continued low interest rates, which the bank says will likely drive more investment in commodities in order to offset that risk.
"We see trends in rising social need, alongside investor complacency over inflation, as raising the political risks of policy with an inflationary bias," the analysts wrote. "Accordingly, we expect an increased rotation into commodities as an inflation hedge."
Gold is seen as one of those hedges, and has seen its price shoot up by 26% this year. Goldman expects the metal to average a price of $2,300 per ounce in 2021, up from its predicted average of $1,836 per ounce this year.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Indonesian government expects to roll out its Covid-19 vaccination in December 2020, a little later than previously planned.
“We will start vaccinations during the third week of December,” Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan said, noting that the government is still carrying out the third clinical trials of a Covid-19 vaccine developed by Sinovac and Bio Farma.
Previously, the Indonesian government planned to distribute its Covid-19 vaccine this month.

The incumbent US leader claimed the Democrats are “never going to catch us” in a statement today, where he also hit out against alleged voter “fraud”. Mr Trump’s claims are unsubstantiated and have been widely condemned in the US and around the world. Meanwhile, former Vice President Joe Biden said that his team “feel good about where we are” and believed they were “on track to win this election”. Currently, the results are too close to call and could take days until the future US President is announced. Many fear the ramifications of the result, including a renowned psychiatrist admitting concerns that Mr Trump might not leave the White House if he loses. Others have feared civil war could break out amid continued tensions in the US and aggressive displays of campaigners with guns.
