CBP temporary ban is part of US govt initiatives to fixed the forced labor issue in their supply chain. The company involved in suspected FL will then conduct auditing on their factories whether they are compliance to 11 ILO FL standard. Once it is done they will then submit the auditing report to CBP for review. If more things to be done, CBP will advise the company to make further improvements. When all the issues of FL already solved, CBP will then lift the WRO.

Many foreigners may not know foreign workers especially the Nepal want to earn more money when thy come to Malaysia. They will try to work as many OT as possible during weekend which easily increase daily pay to 1.5x on Sat and 2x on Sun. Their pay easily hit 3-4k. They are willing workers (not forced labour) but US think this is forced labor. Once i met a Nepal who had saved 300k in 3years working in Malaysia factory. In fact they are super rich "forced labour". U can check with them, many Nepal quite rich working in Malaysia some even setup "Ah Long" business, car washing and other business.

DPA initiatives is to increase
The administration is also aiming to bolster the country’s supply of critical personal protective gear such as surgical gloves, which are in short supply. The administration plans to expand the domestic manufacturing of the gloves in the U.S. by building plants to make raw materials and the gloves themselves. About 1 billion nitrile gloves could be manufactured per month by the end of the year, Manning estimated.

Supermx investing a nitrile glove factory in US is timely and as it will help to bolster the supply of nitrile gloves to US govt hospitals. I believe it will be looking forward to sign a contract with US govt at end of year. The building of factory will forecast to completed at end of 2022.

Glovemakers, tech companies and EMS players to shine

We are positive on exporters, namely, glove manufacturers, tech companies
and electronics manufacturing services (EMS) players.
While glove companies face labor and environmental, social and governance (ESG) concerns that impact valuations, global demand for gloves remains high as the pandemic is ongoing due to the spread of the Delta variant. Most manufacturers still have orders for more than a year. The average selling prices of gloves, albeit off their peaks, appear to be moderating and are largely within market expectations.

Millions of children get sick with the flu every year and tens of thousands are hospitalized with respiratory syncytial virus or RSV. Research being presented at an American Academy of Pediatrics conference shows pandemic precautions, like wearing masks and social distancing, helped stop the spread of flu and other common respiratory viruses last season.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai will unveil the Biden administration's long-awaited strategy for the troubled U.S.-China trade relationship in a speech on Monday at a Washington think tank, her office said.

Biden administration officials say China has not met its Phase 1 trade deal commitments and they intend to hold it to its international trade commitments.

Chad Bown, a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington, estimates that China's purchases of U.S. exports through August are running at about 62% of the Phase 1 targets, based on U.S. export data.

US tariff on imposing 15% tax on China medical gloves will be announced on Monday.
