It was the right thing to do with the dividend in May to reward existing shareholders before the PP come on board. Dividend in Aug should be less if any with the enlarged base on 01-Jun-2023 and only one month to 30-Jun.

Will the profit be much better in the subsequent quarters? If we annualize the 1st Quarter profit of $2.936M; with enlarged share capital of 3.468B shares, EPS at 0.339 sen and PE of ~148 times referencing IPO price of $0.50.

Comparatively, the audited revenue and profit for FPE2022 in the Prospectus are $302.011M and $92.083M respectively.

Yes, SSPN failed without the tax relief! What the current government will do to make it a success without? Better performance and being managed by professional? Also stopping the so called "leakage" which cost the government $250M and benefited 400K taxpayers which quite obviously majority of them are from T20.........

Does the current government really firm in reducing the "benefits" for the T20??? I think the first attempt have failed which was the Tax Relief U-Turn on saving into SSPN Prime.

The dividend of SSPN was higher than 4% in 2013 and 2014 at 4.25%; lowest in 2010 at 2.5% only. After 2014, it stayed at 4% and drop to 3% for the last couple of years. These return was just not sweet enough to attract savers. However, with the Tax Rebate, those with Taxable income of $70K and above can see their tax reduce by 21% or more of the amount saved in SSPN Prime subject to the limit set. This in my opinion is the real sweetener!

Considering the potential "Bank Run" without the tax relief on SSPN Prime, does the current government thought thru in detail and ways to address the impact? The Tax Relief was extended to 2024 and we shall see what lies in Budget 2025 which is less than 1.5 years away.

Will the price move higher in the coming couple of weeks to entice subscribers?

For this counter, Changing to rights at current price ($0.085) will pegged the holding cost (excluding earlier loss/gain) at $0.059 considering the free warrant at $0.005 post rights.

Stock

Another typical case of price drop underwater post rights. In this case, the share price drop quite late - two days before listing. At current price, newly subscribed share together with warrant is ~12.5% underwater. If did not change the original holding to rights, the original holding is under water a further ~65% (at $0.04 referencing $0.11).

I guess we always see the same kind of statement which appear in this article:-

"A bare bones budget of just RM1,500 a month already requires you to have a whopping RM270,000 to support ourselves till we reach 75" (retired at 60)

Also mentioning the compound interest effect in the saving placed into EPF.

Do we missed something? I think we also need to know EPF does pay out dividend up to age 100 for member. This mean if we retired with $360K of saving in EPF at age 55 and above, can live by with $1500 per month, EPF pay out 5% or more per year; we can maintain the income stream forever without reducing "Principal" or base saving in EPF.

$360K with 5% dividend will yield $18K per year which is $1500 per month.

If the dividend is higher than 5% and the monthly withdrawal stayed at $1500, the "money tree" in EPF still grow albeit slowly.

There are close to ~360 million sell volume and done volume at 7.4 million for the Rights at the moment, mean there are a lot of seller but few willing to buy. The existing shareholders already have the OR and need to make decision where to subscribe or not.

For non shareholder, buying the Rights and subscribe will pay $0.06 per share. It may seemed to gain $0.04 per share per the current price but post Rights, the recent history of Penny stock's Rights Issue may turned off many.................SO BEWARE!!!

@8899EL8899,
After right issue, if we don't sell and do not subscribe to Right and the the price drop to 4 sen, we will loss a further $5500 from current $0.095 for 100K share. If we sell and change to right, we will loss slightly less than $2300 as we now have 172.8K share and 720K of warrant (Assume Warrant at $0.005).

For sure, we can sell off at the current price and ignore the Rights if we foresee it will drop further.

Stock

2023-02-10 11:38 | Report Abuse

With the significant #right at 6 to 1, if selling off, only be able to subscribe partially if no additional capital. For 100K mother share, selling off at $0.095 will end up with 172.8K (out of 600K entitlement) mother share and 720K Warrant after right issue with small additional amount to avoid odd lot in Warrant.

Stock

2023-02-10 11:16 | Report Abuse

If holding mother share, seemed to be better sell it off and change to Right at $0.06? (buy OR at $0.005 and pay $0.055; and subscribe to entitlement at $0.055). This will increase #share onhand and provide better chance to gain or reduce loss...........

Base on the price tag at $9K and $14K, I think it is a recipe for disaster. The equivalance models in China cost not even one third! Is it due to the extremely high production cost in Malaysia or making huge profit???

The price has been on downtrend since early 2012, with sign of stabilizing in 2018; but continue to downtrend for couple of year, then on sideways since. At current price, I think the downside is limited. I have been buying since early 2018 and averaging down with current average cost at ~$0.48 excluding dividend and ~$0.415 considering dividend, mean loss of ~11.5% at current price of $0.36.
Malaysia interest rate increase is quite moderate in my opinion. With gearing ratio at 49.5% or slightly more than $820M, the interest impact is not that significant and still tolerable. The occupancy rate on some of the property are worrying though, hope the management will work harder to improve the performance.

With two years to retirement, saving and EPF of ~$1M and 1 rental property paid off by then. Assessment is needed if the income generated are sufficient to sustain the lifestyle intended.

If both are really conservative in money management and do not want any hassle, let EPF manage the total saving is the option avialable. With the recent budget, can top-up $400K in the next two years into EPF from saving.

Let say can reached $1.1M in total EPF and 5.5% of dividend will yield slightly more than $5K per month. With another $1K net from property rental, this make the total monthly income at $6K per month without reducing the "Principal Capital" available.

By then, can make arrangement with EPF to withdraw the yearly dividend of $60K or monthly of $5K. If this is sufficient, then can retire comfortably with peace of mind...............

I think the writer does not provide the full picture on the analysis. The counter illustrated have paid out $0.642 dividend since Oct-2018. If we assumed the loss mentioned at 22.5% at $3.41, adjusting the dividend received, the loss was only less than 4%, mean if the price move up by around $0.13, it will be at breakeven level..........

With the dividend payout of 1.93 sen last May and estimate to have another 1 sen this December; at current price of $0.38, we will have slightly more than 7% of net dividend for this year.
Also good potential for long term holding with NTA stood at $1.17 which is >3 times the current share price.

Also, current EPF saving with yield of 5% and accumulation for another 5 years contribution with the same yield will provide around ~$780K in total. Upon retirement, there are ~$38K dividend per year (~$3200 per month) with yield of 5% from EPF alone.

不足的数额是60万4252??? The saving to EPF and own for age 41 to 45 was not calculated!!

If we take working for another 5 years, 25% contribution to EPF with 5% dividend will yield ~$177K ($2550 contribution per month) ; Own Saving at $4700 per month with 5% return will yield ~$327K.

With the above, there are additional ~$504K available.

For the ~$1171K, extending another years with return of 5% will yield another ~$58K. Hence there are additional "saving + return" of ~$562K.

If she just worked another year, there will almost enough to retire with the needed amount mentioned. Worst case, extending one more year (totalled 2 years, age 47yo) will be more than sufficient.

Coupon/Profit/Interest/Payment Rate are the common term used as Preference share's dividend, hence I think there is nothing wrong to refer the payout as interest. For PANSAR-PA, we do see there are distributable profit at the point of PA's anniversary where dividend should be paid if the management cares! Should the company took loan from financial institutions, interest (maybe part of principal) must be paid irrespective of profit/loss!
We can refer to OMESTI-PB which was issued at $1.00 with 5% rate on 01-Apr-2021. The dividend have been consistently being paid (half yearly) on 30-Jun and 31-Dec for last couple of round. With current price at $0.86, the yield stood at ~5.81% pa.

Implementing the dividend tier may cause significant outflow from EPF and may cause catastrophic impact to the market and may be more detrimental to the so called "poor" contributors! Per EPF Annual Report 2020, there are ~7.6M active members with total saving of ~$721B.

Member with $500K and above stood at 207,669 with total saving of !$198B. This is ~2.47% percent of the active members and ~27.41% of the total saving.

Should EPF implementing lower dividend at 3% or less for saving >=$500K, I believe this group of member will opt out of the EPF and park their money elsewhere as their saving are equally hard earned. As a matter of fact, we need to be prudent in financial planning in order to build up saving in EPF as well as on our own!
