On June 28, 2012, despite the protest of KFP members, Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd was listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia in a RM9.93 billion initial public offering. FGV was the second largest IPO in the world that year after Facebook Inc.

Dubbed the world’s largest crude palm oil producer and Malaysia’s second largest palm oil refiner, FGV is the third largest palm oil company in the world by planted acreage.

As at its IPO, FGV controlled about 500,000ha that were managed by 112,600 Felda settlers and another 355,864ha of leased land in Malaysia alone.

With the RM4.5 billion proceeds raised via the IPO, FGV has been on a spending spree, increasing its acreage and assets not just locally but also internationally.

To date, it has increased its acreage to 917,123ha via acquisitions in Indonesia and Malaysia. It has also acquired a 51% stake in FHB from KPF for RM2.2 billion, making the former a wholly-owned subsidiary.

If they cannot get 25-28 mt after replanting, fgv may get into danger zone, becoz they hv to pay 250 million annually n 15% of annual profit to felda, i call it a "mad ipo" which shareholder would want to invest here. Even for that matter EPF invested in fgv due to lacking in professionalism.B4 u go to U those days u must pass d HSC (higher school certificate) n must hv a pass in General Paper n professionslism starts on this paper hence education gone so no professional ppl.

Matters were not helped by the group’s free-spending ways. Should the latest proposed purchases go through, FGV would have spent more than RM7.6 billion on acquisition activities alone in under three years (see bottom graphics). To put it into perspective, this figure is more than FGV’s current market capitalisation of RM6.12 billion as at June 18.

The group is in a scramble to replenish its landbank with greenfield assets as nearly half of its palm trees are above 20 years of age. Apart from the old trees, it is also encumbered by expense charges that are unique to the group due to ongoing replanting activities as well as its relationship with Felda. FGV’s estimated all-in cost of production is above RM2,000 per metric tonne, by far the highest among Malaysian plantation players.

“The high cost structure is principally due to the land lease agreement (LLA) and its aggressive replanting programme. For the LLA, FGV pays a fixed annual payment of RM250 million plus 15% of plantation operating profits for estates leased from Lembaga Felda. For the replanting programme, the expenses are not capitalised but charged out into its income statement,” says Maybank IB Research regional plantations analyst Ong Chee Ting.....@Ring extract from Mal...Insider...for full text please read now. They claim now on agressive replanting, now let me ask one question do they hv d "agressive ppl" as compared to KLK/UP? It is very interesting to note, GLC Sim.......finished their replanting in penindular n pls find out what is their overall yield, are they getting d 25-28 mt all i know their yield is about 20mt. If their yield is 25-28 their share price will be similar to KLK/UP. Another question if FGV fail to get 25mt after replanting over n if still on 20mt.......I cant imagine d consequences......?

"Ramayana" originated from India,d story suppose to hv happened BC. Western scholars says its a greatest mythology of all times but d hindu says its a true event, since related to Lord Krishna n Anuman. The literatures comprises of 25 chapters, it can reach from d floor to d roof. Its all about, simple "all of us r born in this world to fullfill yr duty n once finished u return to where u came from"- "Duty Bound".Example 1. If d father fails in duty what happens n it goes so on referiing to teachers, mothers,Judges, children etc etc.If all of us "committed"there wont be corruption in M'sia. Tourists seen taking a stroll along George Town in Penang. – The Malaysian Insider file pic, July 15, 2015. The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) has urged Putrajaya to consider exempting the local tourism industry from the goods and services tax (GST).

Association president Hamzah Rahmat said the move would boost the country's tourism sector, which was suffering a slowdown.

According to him, the industry had seen a drop of between 30 to 40% in business in recent months.

The association had brought up matters about the GST with the relevant authorities but had yet to receive positive feedback, he told a news conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

Hamzah said that besides GST, another matter that should be looked into by the government was online visa application for tourists.

According to him, industry players felt that it was high time that Malaysia introduced online application for visa.

He added that such a method was easier, faster and cheaper compared with the conventional procedures. – Bernama, July 15, 2015.

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia jumped five rungs from 11th in 2014 to the 6th position in this year’s Baseline Profitability Index (BPI), a ranking of destinations of attractiveness for foreign investors, published by the Foreign Policy Magazine.
Among Asean countries, only Malaysia and Singapore featured in the top 10. Indonesia was ranked 12th, Vietnam (23), Philippines (30) and Thailand at the 38th position.
“This ranking, which covered 110 countries across six continents reaffirms that Malaysia is an attractive profit centre in this region for investors.
The BPI, introduced by an adjunct professor of New York University’s Stern School of Business since 2013, uses a holistic approach based on eight factors that will affect the ultimate success of a foreign investment.

These factors cover economic growth, financial stability, physical security, corruption, expropriation by government, exploitation by local partners, capital controls, and exchange rates.

KUCHING: Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KLK) has been viewed as a stable stock despite uncertainties in the global economy and domestic stock markets.
The research arm of Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd (Affin Research) in a report, opined that KLK offers strong management, steady earnings and dividend yields, large palm-oil plantation land bank and planted areas with an average age fast approaching ideal, and healthy balance sheet.
Nevertheless, given a modest crude palm oil (CPO) price outlook, the research team maintained a ‘hold’ recommendation on the stock....@Ring extract from Borneo Post..Uncle Emir KLK is confident wt low cpo price but FGV is sinking!!!!!!

FGV emerges as top gainer on news sale of non-core assets
Thu, 09 Jul 2015 02:44:53 GMT2015-07-09T02:44:53Z
Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) emerged as a top gainer among heavyweights on Bursa Malaysia today on news that it planned to raise more than RM1 billion from the sale of non-core assets.
The move by the global agricultural and agri-commodities company is to enable it to focus on plantations to repair investor confidence dented by recent acquisitions.
Chief executive officer Mohd Emir Bavani Abdullah said the company might sell its unprofitable businesses in the US and Canada at prices ranging from US$180 million (RM685.5 million) to US$250 million later this month.

At 10.22am, FGV's shares rose one sen to RM1.56 with 652,500 changing hands. – Bernama, July 9, 2015.
