I think share holders dumped d shares to increase liquidity to build volume. High liquidity is good becoz volume needed to push price up.

Price 40 is ideal but dont forget he dont care for retailers, he got his tycoon friends to suscribe becoz they can get d warrants.

Halim collected 833mln shares to grab d warrants later at d appropriate time he may dispose d mother n keep d warrants.Downstream not promising so going upstream profit is left to be seen.A lot of risk involved.Many will be dumping n hopefully can hit 30, i am wsiting for this price.I wouldnt subscribe to RI.

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Halim Saad, the major shareholder of Sumatec Resources Bhd, has increased his stake in the oil and gas company after buying an additional 40 million shares at 20.5 sen each for RM8.2mil.In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, Sumatec said the former Renong Bhd executive chairman acquired the shares from Sumatec’s independent and non-executive director Chan Yok Peng on March 10.Post-purchase, Halim owns 807.04 million shares, or 23.17%.An earlier filing showed that its director Chan had disposed 40 million shares at 20.5 sen per share on March 10, thus reducing his shareholding to 129.48 million shares, or 3.72%.In an earlier report, Sumatec was said to be eyeing matured and proven assets that were undervalued, onshore or near shore. It had sold off, and closed down all its downstream assets to turn into an upstream player, following a series of restructuring exercises.It expects to produce 30,000 barrels of oil a day in Kazakhstan by 2018. Sumatec’s share price closed up 4.5 sen or 21.95% at 0.25 sen yesterday with a market capitalisation of RM870.7mil.

Halim Saad Raises Stake In Sumatec Resources

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Halim Saad has raised his stake in Sumatec Resources Bhd with the recent purchase of 40 million shares at 20.5 sen each or RM8.2mil.
A filing with Bursa Malaysia showed he bought the shares from Sumatec’s independent and non executive director Chan Yok Peng on March 10.
After the recent purchase, Halim’s direct stake in the oil and gas-related services company increased to 807.04 million shares or 23.17%.
An earlier filing showed its director Chan Yok Peng had disposed of 46 million shares. Chan sold six million shares at 21 sen each and 40 million shares at 20.5 sen and reduced his shareholding to 129.48 million shares or 3.72%.
Sumatec is currently undergoing a business restructuring which will see it entering the upstream sector via a joint investment agreement with Markmore Energy (Labuan) Limited and CaspiOilGas LLP to develop the Rakushechnoye Oil and Gas Field in West Kazakhstan.
In addition to developing the Rakushechnoye Field, Sumatec is looking for opportunities to acquire and develop new and under performing fields.
Its target assets will be mainly onshore, as this reduces the capital cost of infrastructure required.

Datasonic Group Bhd and Iris Corporation Bhd are battling it out for a new lucrative government contract estimated to be worth hundreds of millions to supply Malaysian electronic passports. Currently, Iris holds this e-passport contract and it is learnt that Datasonic might just succeed in wresting it from Iris as the contract is believed to expire in June.

According to sources, while the e-passport contract will only expire in June, Iris has already fulfilled the supply and implementation of secure chip technology solutions under the contract period.
