When alam goes down. It's goes down down...There is no Claire catalyst etc.

The COGS is always that high and margin is always that bad. U can check all the way back to 2013. Highest revenue was RM180mil, COGS was RM159, Operating Profit was RM8.9mil.

What puts Alam profitable was Share of results of associates and Share of results of jointly controlled entities. Happens to know who and what are they?

I hv alot hibiscus too. Fundamentally strong with good margin. Maybe I entered abit too early, will load up later when volume comes in. I think because it's boring. Everyone think the market already know it's good. Nothing special anymore.

Just like all the REIT. It's good and cheap. But majority of the market not interested is stuff that's already good. They are not here to make money. They are here to buy hope and get all excited when they are right. Exactly, the same reason why people buy lottery.

If it's an investment; then it has to answer few question. Is it making money? Is it gonna make more money? How is it that it's gonna make more money. What are the key metrics that indicates performance improvement. If solely because it's cheap; then you have to decide if it's cheap enough for value to emerge.

For Mahsing, see the average dividend yield, cash in hand, and the land bank worth and where they are located. Although, revenue dropping consistently past few quarters; the market price dropped low enough for value to emerge. Bear in mind; Mahsing asset class and Alam's asset class is very different. Mahsing land appreciates; Alam's ships depreciate. Alam's ship is purchased with debts. And if it's idling; means every vessel they have is bleeding cash. And if it's not idling; what is the margin. Enough to service debts? All that in Cash Flow statement. And I can go on and on about it...so, I step aside. Maybe if you see something I don't, I would love to hear about it.

How? What will change and On what catalyst?

There are many very cheap counters in the market. But if it has not sign it knows how to make money; -ve EPS is still ok if core operating profit must be there with sign of improvement. But core operating profit that swings around; I'm not that keen. Yorkyork is asking good question if Alam has real ship with real orderbook. And if there is; what the margin at the moment and any sign they gonna improve the margin. So what if Petronas award them RM1bil contract and they lose 10sen every dollar in the contract. Better don't get contact.

What i'm interested now; mahsing...6% dividend yield at all time low. All the REIT (Amfirst DY8.25%, UOA 7,5%, KIP 8%). All know how to make money; all pays dividend. All at it's all time low. If know how to make money can get lower; i can't imagine how much lower those that dunno how to make money.

I rather keep cash than to buy anything that lose money. I could be wrong about Alam.
I do hope u will get a windfall at Alam. It's just I don't see how yet other than "hoping" things gets better.

If really got orderbook/contract that allows ARBB to make 20mil profit a quarter, 80mil a year; then u say RM1.50 is possible. Maybe it will gap up 60-70sen which is still cheap. When u make a decision; you make based on what is and what is not. If u just wanna imagine; then why choose this 1 counter out of 1000 counter in BSKL to dream of le?

I also can say if Dato squandered the RM294mil. Then, what's ARBB worth? NOTHING.

The point is...see when Dato sign contract. No contract no buy. Simple as that.
