From what I understand TAGB is now the sole owner of the hotel and tower (hopefully I am not wrong). Holborn has received its share of the money and is not in it from here on. Easier this way.
From all this I can assume the family has a healthy amount of cash to maybe take TA private. They can do so in a very short time since they are only about 1% away from MGO. If they can proceed with that it will be good for investors.

Why not take some of both. Reason being in case TA decide to sell stock broking business, u can expect to receive something (whatever they hand out, cash and tagb shares maybe). On the other hand if they list a hospitality reit again you can get something through TAGB shares.

In my opinion the next quarterly results to be released end Feb would be interesting as there is expected a revenue jump and profit as well. I don't see this counter getting any cheaper other than factors beyond its control such as a major correction in the dow due to bubble after the us elections. I would buy some, if price goes down add some more. Look at company announcements and see how much Tony has been paying , that can be a good reference to compare. Best of luck.

Tagb owned Trump Vancouver is the connection to Trump. The trumps will manage this hotel for
TAGB. The residential units above the hotel are serviced apts, they pay condo fees and get top notch service (luxury) as well.

Bang on right. Low profits are declared or in some quarters there are losses. But internally the company continues to grow. Most investors dont know, sell down the counter to peanuts in value.
I notice management try to give good hints, like in mid 2016 Datin Alicia gave a press statement declaring that trump vancouver sales will largely be shown on financial ending 2016 report (quarterly report announcement at end Feb 2017), but investors are not showing much interest, thus the low price.
It is typical of most investors to chase a counter after the price already move up a lot, with high volume. By then too it is already too late.

Agree with Bull13. Once investors that came in late (short term investors) are cleared, the more serious investors will remain. Those that won't just throw away a good counter.

Listing REIT in Canada or Singapore would be interesting. 30+ sen is only 10 cents in their currency.

Can go higher than that IMO. If you look at all the hotels in all the countries (Singapore, thailand,china, australia, canada) all these countries currencies have gone up by about 30% since the hotels were bought. That is not taking into consideration the price appreciation of all these properties as many were bought at very good prices. A good example is swissotel merchant court singapore was bought for S$ 260M in 2009 during market crash. Now the hotel is worth much more in price as well as exchange rate appreciation. In 2009 exchange rate was 1 : 2.4 now it is 1:3.10
This counter is so undervalued !! It is time to unlock the value through a hospitality REIT and go buy more hotels. Can generate very good dividends.

Yes, it is good to hold for medium to long term.
Lele I feel the same, the price could be above 0.30 before CNY. A few years back Tony continuously bought Tagb and within less than a month went up about 10 - 15 sen. Yesterday he bought 4.5 million shares at 26.8 sen.

Lele Maybe he give his son a reward, also if he continue to buy TA & Tagb his holding might trigger a mgo. Give his son some shares clear some room for him to continue to buy tagb. Just my opinion.

If your house is worth $520K , would you sell for $245K ?? or if someone wants to sell to you would you buy?
TAGB and TA are selling for way too cheap. Value investing is to buy cheap and hold until price do catch up. Have to be patient, as TAGB is still young (only 7 years old, baru masuk darjah satu). When it start to show better profits the price will start to move up. Hopefully sooner than later.
TRump effect who knows good or bad? That aside after refurbishing their hotels and also with new developments coming, I see hope.

TAGB was sitting at 22 sen for too long and at very very low price. Good to see Tony show support.
He knows better than anyone what the true value should be. In 2017 I believe the price can go to between 40 to 50 sen.

Lele That announcement was about 6 months ago. Since then the renovations for the hotels is complete. Raddisson Blu sydney the renovation cost was A$13M (about RM$40M). How much TAGB spent on all the hotels I don't know but it is quite a lot. Going forward with ringgit down so much against all the countries where the hotels are located, there could be a big jump in revenue in the coming months. With the development next to KLCC (TA3 & TA4) getting closer to launch, TAGB will need to raise funds as this project is a big one. So I am counting on REIT for that purpose. I wonder what the management has in mind.

He has postponed his announcement to next month but has given some indication what he is going to do. Looks like he wants to freeze, so no new business.

Trump and family having a press conference Dec 15 to announce on how they plan to get rid of conflict of interest. Let's see what they have to say. Who knows they might freeze the trump brand while trump is president or maybe even sell the brand name.

Taktau From what I read previously, once a shareholder has 33.33% it will automatically trigger MGO or mandatory general offer. So in this case brother Tony will have to make an offer to acquire remainder of shares.

I would love to get bonus shares. Handout TAGB shares to all TA share holders and separate the stockbroking and properties businesses. TAGB hopefully will go on to list a Hospitality REIT, which will reward shareholders for being patient for seven long years since IPO.

Looking at the two major developments the co. has undertaken, namely little bay sydney and trump vancouver, could it be the investments made with revenues yet to show up are the investments. Accounting is one tricky and complex business I don't understand much. But I sure hope thats where the cash went into.
