AIRASIA NAMED MOST INFLUENTIAL AIRLINE IN CHINA AT NEW POWER OF TRAVEL AWARDS

BEIJING, 9 January 2017 – AirAsia has been named The Most Influential Airline in China at the 2016 New Power of Travel ​Awards held in Continental Hotel Beijing here on Friday 6 January 2017.

The awards, hosted by Sina Travel and Youku Travel websites​, review the development and trends of the travel industry in China, and evaluate travel-related companies and products based on the content and readership by the more than 800 million users on both websites.

The awards honour outstanding companies and products as voted by user​s, and provide travel guides towards airlines, hotels and destinations for travellers.

Sina is the world's largest Chinese-language web portal, while Youku is one of China's top video and online streaming platforms.

The awards committee noted that AirAsia had influenced​ free and independent travellers (FITs)​ in China with its young, passionate and creative brand image since entering the market, adding that, “AirAsia has also created lots of unique content and activities on social media, so now the concept of 'Now Everyone Can Fly' has become more influential in China."​

Now, Deutsche Bank and Maybank IB start giving negative comment and lower TP...

Maybank IB's negative comment could be related to its CW which will be expired this month.

If you see the price dropped everyday, you will feel panic.

However, if you think of investment point of view, you are investing a company with huge profit, low PE and good management team. Then, you shall feel relax.

Although recently the share price dropped, but i believe in long term, few months, half year, 1 year of 3 years... the true value of Airasia will be reflected in its share price eventually.

The article said Airasia made profit for only 2 quarters over last 3 years. This is miss leading... Q4 2015, Q1 - Q3 2016 all made good profit.

And somemore, Airasia did earn profit from airfare... but the article said no profit from airfare... funny

So in short, AirAsia Q2 results was beautify by 91 millions

AirAsia Q3 actual profit shall be 473 millions.

118 millions deferred tax is kept to add in Q4 results.

Then, the actual Q3 EPS shall be around 17 cents

AirAsia Q2 profit before tax added 91 millions deferred tax to beautify
AirAsia Q3 profit before tax minus 118 millions deferred tax

213+118-91=240 millions

Does it mean AirAsia Q4 profit before tax can add 240 millions to be net profit?

Very good Q3 results, profit before tax is 473 millions comparing to Q2 253 millions.

However, after minus deferred tax, the Q3 net profit is 352 millions.

As for Q2, after adding deferred tax, the net profit was 341 millions.

Any Sifu can explain what is the deferred tax? Why some quarter add it, and some quarter minus it?

So... that means... Tunepro Q3 results shall be very good.

I think Foreign Fund Selling is over.

You may notice their daily net selling amount from 700+million rm, 300+million, 200+million... and yesterday 100 million.

Agree with you that PE is not the only factor, but it is a main factor and also cash flow which Airasia has a lot.

1. If you notice on Airasia report, the debt is decreasing every quarter... And, the profit obtained by Airasia is far more enough to pay interest and reduce the debt. Assuming Airasia use half of its profit to pay interest and debt... then the PE ratio become x2, ie 6.4, this is till low PE.

2. Airasia is growing, and the global demand is increasing, that's why Tony plans to buy more Aircraft, and these new aircraft is more fuel efficient. Do you want to buy a company which is growing or not?

Agree that there will be forex loss, however it shall be small amount as USD vs RM was about 3.99 on 1 July and 4.13 on 30 Sep.

About whether the stock price is high or not... we shall not base on how much it has gone up... but always base on PE ratio to determine whether the share price is high.

The PE is extremely low now 2.53 divide by 78 cents (assuming Q3 EPS 15 cents and Q4 EPS 20cents)... the PE is only 3.2

Why these days sell down?

Perhaps someone want to collect more before Q3 results announcement.

This is definitely a very good news for airline industry.

If Airasia could enjoy this low fuel price till 2020... then while expanding its fleet with no worry, EPS also growing every year.

My rough calculation for AirAsia.

Q1 EPS 30 cents
Q2 EPS 13 cents

Traditionally strong Q3 and Q4 quarters

Assuming conservatively
Q3 EPS 15 cents
Q4 EPS 20 cents

That equal to 78 cents EPS for 2016

If PE 10, the share price shall be RM 7.80

If PE 5, the share price shall be RM 3.90

Current price at 2.73 is extremely low comparing to PE ratio, not even talk about the possibility of huge dividend after selling AAC.

I strongly believe that Tony Fernando will announce dividend so that he can use the dividend to pay the private placement as I do not think he wants to hold the 1 billion ringgit debt.

Even Warren Buffet start buying Airlines shares.

In AGM, Tony said that Singapore Airlines made profit of USD 580,000,000 (equal to about RM 2 Billion)

And, Airasia profits estimated to be closed to same figure.

However, Singapore Airline market value is USD 9 billions, but Airasia only USD 1.6 billions market value.

2,500,000 shares queued sell at 2.34 to block Airasia from going up.

This is same technique used by syndicate as yesterday when they pressed down the price in afternoon.

What is the purpose of blocking it from going up?

Personally, i think that the last minute throw out of few millions share is mainly because some of the funds adjusting their investment portfolio at this month end.

I went to EGM on 9 May and Tony said that he already got the loan for the Private Placement.

However, the interest rate is not attractive enough and need further negotiation.

So, I think by pushing up the AA share price 50% above the 1.84. Tony has more bargain power for lower interest rate.
