Market put Vstecs under Distribution sector lor. Vstecs, Harison, KTC, Marco are all traded at PER between 8x to 9x. Pharma is another catching up. It's only Dksh fetched higher valuation in PER 11x.

Pmbtech also can be regarded as a 'tech' stock. MSC should change its name to MSC Technology so as to enjoy the fancy technology trend. Lolz

Many old mining areas in Perak have turned into housing estates for the last 2 decades. Mining exploration is a time-consuming activity. People cannot simply circle a land going for mining activities causing ESG problem nowadays.

MSC, OMH, PmbTech and Pmetal are all involving in smelting business. Their profit is highly dependent on commodity prices because of the inventories. When the prices of their product (commodity) up, the profits follow suit and vice versa.

Why not make a comparison with the smelters like OMH, PmbTech and Pmetal? A company goes for IPO listing also has to take a few companies for benchmarking to get an average PER to compute the listing price.

Again, IB simply picked a number of PER 8x anyhow without making a comparison.

ASML is traded at PER 40x whereas Vitrox PER 45x.

MSC is targeting to increase the mining out of tin to 3,000 tonnes or 28% in 2022 against 2,350 last year. They have upgraded their mining facilities of extracting tin ore to 12tonnes per day.

New smelting Top Submerged Lance (TSL)furnace capacity is able to process 60,000 tonnes of tin concentrates or max 42,000 tonnes refined tin a year. MSC managed to produce merely 16,400 tonnes (Year 2021) of refined tin due to covid impact and switching to TSL furnace gradually. If TSL achieves average production capacity of 75% (45,000 tonnes) processing tin concentrates in year 2022, the output of refined tin will be 31,500 tonnes.

Tin smelting is a competitive business. Net profit margin 5% is considered very good. Tin Mining operation remains the main contributor.

It would be very good performance if MSC manage to achieve 70% yield or 3,024 tonnes of tin concentrates per year from the 12tonnes/day tin ore mining in 2022.

Tin ore usually contain 70 to 75% of tin metal. Therefore, 12ton/day extraction of tin ore will provide a yield about 756 to 810 ton of tin per quarter.


"Tin concentrates from the alluvial mining areas of Southeast Asia are relatively free of impurities, although there may be small quantities of related minerals such as wolframite, scheelite, and columbite. Concentrates shipped to the smelter usually contain 70 to 75 percent tin metal. On the other hand, the complex sulfide ores found in underground deposits, such as those of Bolivia, require more complicated mineral processing, often involving froth flotation, in order to produce a clean tin concentrate. Even then, Bolivian concentrates may average only 50 to 60 percent tin."

There are few levels of workers in the factory. Bangladesh can be working as a supervisor. Supervisor salary will be much higher than normal workers after including OT.
