Actually, YTL Land's Sentul project is a gold mine. It is one of the biggest pieces of undeveloped freehold land situated near the city centre. Their property there has increased by more than 100%. But why the share price does not move, I don't know, maybe the free float is too low. Buy their property there better, much better gains. :)

Bro messi, the owner of MBF had announced yesterday that he was selling of MBF cards. It was bound to shoot up. There might be profit taking next week for the contra fellas before it shoots up again once more details emerge.

If they manage to sell it for RM570m it works out to RM1 per share. Just don't know whether they plan to distribute it to shareholders or keep it to fund their other businesses. Historically, the owner has tried to privatise it several times but failed.

They are selling their card business only. They still have other lines of business although cards is one of the bigger divisions.

Looks like it has halted its fall and going back up. Good thing I topped up more at 0.245.

Price will not fall below RM0.50 for a simple reason, cash received from capital repayment is RM0.53 per share. If share price does fall below RM0.53 then you should buy for guaranteed cash returns.

Yup, after everything is settled (capital repayment, share split, share consolidation) it should be around RM0.50 per share I think, at existing issued share base.

So as Chong said, we still have ECM shares that can be traded with a value that will be clearer as the merger nears completion, on top of the cash, Kenanga shares and loan stock (at 5%pa no less).

In summary, is it a good deal?

Well, considering that the value of ECM Libra Investment Bank alone is RM1 per share based on the proposal, at previous closing of RM0.865 for ECM Libra Financial Group Holdings (listed entity), it is a 15.6% increase. So, this is a GOOD deal for shareholders. There is still a value to their other businesses which has not been included.

Note, do not forget that the prices you are seeing are just for the disposal of their main business, ECM Libra Investment Bank Berhad. Just one of their subsidiaries (the main one). They still have several other lines of business (subsidiaries) that you can see from their annual report.

Perhaps I should clarify, the computation I did above is ONLY for the disposal of ECM Libra Investment Bank. Meaning that as shareholders of ECM Libra Financial Group Holding Berhad (listed entity)the deal woks out to about RM1 per share for the disposal of ECM Libra Investment Bank ONLY.

Do not forget that ECM still has other businesses besides the investment bank including unit trusts etc.

Hence, the RM1 (RM0.68 distributed back to shareholders + RM0.32 retained by ECM Libra) is already above the last closing price of ECM. This still does not include the value of their other businesses.

As stated in the report filed with Bursa, they do not intend to seek a delisting as of now and will still continue with their business. This proposal is only for the disposal of ECM Libra Investment Bank Berhad. The RM264.7million (RM0.32 per share) that they are retaining from the proceeds of disposal can still be used to buy another business if they find a good deal.

Oh ya, and I haven't factored in the 5% interest per annum on the loan stock. An extra RM28 in interest a year based on the example above? Ok, not that material. Haha..

Sorry, can't comment on what the target price for Kenanga shares will be. Don't have sufficient expertise there. Maybe Chong can assist with that?

I just browsed through the report and this is what I gather:

Per ECM share, we should be getting the following:
Cash: ~RM0.53
KNH shares: ~0.1444 per share
Loan stoack: ~0.06 per share

Assuming you have 10,000 shares of ECM, you will get:
Cash: !RM5,300
KNH shares: 1444 shares
Loan Stock: 575 units

Giving a total of (assuming current KNH price of RM0.65):
RM6,813

This is of course not including the purchase consideration retained by ECM which they are not distributing of about RM0.32 per share.

I don't think it is a rumour. If you look at the prospectus, those states are clearly listed there as being allocated positions in the company.

A simple check to the 31 January 2012 Annual Report will show that they own 100% of ECM Libra Investment Bank Berhad. That is not an issue at all.
