The CPO price is rising. The market will have to shrug off the Indian "boycott" before the share price will rise again.

Don't worry about hng33. He will ejaculate when he can't tahan. Like all of us! Hahaha!

Export price after deducting 6% is now RM3,057 per tonne, i.e. > RM3K and more than the domestic price.

CPO futures price up today. Double digit gains.

And China had said that the trade deal with the US will not e at the expense of their other suppliers. In fact it will be good. The rice in soya bean oil as a result of China buying will allow CPO price to rise further since the two are substitutes for each other.

No lah. The export price will adjust upwards so that net will more or less equal the domestic price. Therefore if export price is too low after deducting 6%, then local mills will just sell to domestic buyers like the oil refiners.

In fact the India boycott story may well had been orchestrated by the BN-MCA media.
2020-01-17 15:35 | Report Abuse
Yeah, STAR is MCA owned. It seems trying to take the shine off the Minister of Primary Industries, arch-rival DAP's Teresa Kok.

Jtiasa price is low. I see no more reasons for this after the purported Indian boycott is exposed as fake news.
2020-01-16 21:47 | Report Abuse
Teresa Kok, the Minister of Primary Industries, must have done some heavy diplomatic work behind the scenes.

It's the Indian boycott now extended to CPO instead of just refined palm oil. Malaysia need to make peace fast.

Mahathir said that he will seek a solution with India on the palm oil boycott.

But Malaysian CPO prices still high - well above RM3K per tonne. At this price all oil palm plantation companies, not just RSawit, will make hugh profits.
2020-01-13 09:39 | Report Abuse
I can't believe it. With soaring cpo prices, RSawit still down at the moment.

The point is that did Salute managed to solve its long material lead time which prevent full production last quarter? Did the long shut down from 21st Dec to 31st Dec 2019 caused by problems from long lead time? Anyone got info on this?
In Salute's case, production = income. Less production = less income.

Dec 2019 crude inventory is down 11% over November. That is what driving CPO prices.

All CPO prices including futures shooting up at this very moment. So let the bears sell. The BO will be more explosive!

Also there was no 'drop' in CPO price in Malaysia yesterday. The MPOC settled price ended overall virtually unchanged at RM3041.

And today's demand and supply correlate virtually at the speed of light.
2020-01-09 12:07 | Report Abuse
The figures to watch are not the twists and turns of Indian policies but the CPO futures price. And they respond only to demand and supply in arguably the freest market in the world - the CPO market. The same goes for all commodities.
No one can corner the market for virtually any commodity, wittingly or unwittingly (in India's case), without going bankrupt in the end.

And if India wants to buy refine palm oil from other countries? Where? From Amsterdam, Europe? Hahaha! From China? Hahaha? Malaysia has the best and cheapest refine palm oil in the world.
India's surely cutting its nose to spite its face.

Also it's 10 million tonnes they want. Indon production cannot meet demand. They want their CPO for their 100% CPO based bio-diesel.
Only people like George Soros can beat the market but only on a single transaction like shorting the GBP.

AS for India's 'ban', please read my post as to what will happen if India buys CPO only from Indonesia and the price gap between Indon and Malaysian crude increased.
As for refined oil, refine margin is very thin. If Indian refine oil becomes expensive, they will find means to get 'cheap' Malaysian refine oil. Otherwise their refineries go kaput.

That's refined palm oil. They still take the crude palm oil. Refined palm oil can now go to China.

At RM3K per tonne, if I am the marketing manager, I would lock down the price for at least 80% of my future production to May.
2020-01-08 22:03 | Report Abuse
So far the CPO futures up to May 2020 is keeping above RM3K per tonne - which is very good.

@sin20999, no worry. China can buy up and consume every drop of soya bean oil and palm oil produced by the US and Malaysia respectively. So it all depends on how China plays the game.
I am more concerned about Mahathir's loose tongue.

INdia's boycott cannot affect the price of CPO. If India buys form Indonesia only, Indonesia's CPO price will shoot up. Other countries will avoid Indonesia nd buy Malaysian crude.
And Indian refiners cannot ignore Malaysian CPO for long if Indonesian CPO price is higher than Malaysia's.
The only way Malaysian CPO price can fall is if production shoots up. But no way production can shoot up in the next 3 months.
Or if they decide not to use CPO in bio-fuel. But that is already fixed policy. Indonesia for example had decided to use 100% CPO for production of its bio-fuel.

REACH's concession is in the Caspian Sea area of Kazakhstan. Unaffected by turmoil in the Persian Gulf. If Iran close the Persian Gulf or attack the oil fields, oil price will shoot through the roof as 22% of the world's supply will be cut off. But oil from other areas will not be affected and will be in high demand.
2020-01-06 22:12 | Report Abuse
They will want even more CPO to make bio-fuel.
2020-01-03 11:04 | Report Abuse
All CPO futures prices up to June 2020 are over RM3000 per tonne.
