Share market investment or trading is a business and not a charity. Do not expect honesty and in business many, including IBs, try to deceive to achieve their objectives.

EPS of listed companies would not likely be manipulated when the companies need to pay tax on the reported earnings. When there are huge tax credits, the reported earnings which do not need to pay tax and especially no dividend payment as well, could be suspicious.

Airasia was shorted by certain funds which issued reports bad mouthed it. However, it never looked back after reported good earnings quarter after quarter.

HY despite the rm3.03 EPS performed like those junk Second board stocks in 1996. BUT nothing wrong ma.. It was a game then and everyone knew it but at the end many were severely burnt.

And this HY play is more like a game with many players, big or small, out there trying to deceive with contradictory positions and comments.

How come a "fundamental" stock could fall from a height of 19.20 to 6.02 in a span of 3 months and then rebounded to 9.00+ within 3 trading days? But no doubt the original Shell was regarded as a blue chip in those yesteryears.
As it is now, it is more like those Speculative Second Board Counters in 1996. Goreng Goreng.

Investors can turnaround very quickly from not wanting to buy at lower prices but turned bullish to buy at higher prices just a few days later...
