I may have played Tony Fernandez’s act a little, well, I shared a photo of him in an ad promoting the current government. But here, I’m coming to his defense and I hope people will understand him.

Please read Syed Saddiq’s explanation of how Tony came to the aid of Harapan well before he did what made us angry. Yes, I’ve known that he had been helping Harapan, financially. Some stupid idiot however, put him on a spot that jeopardized his position with the then government.

As a businessman, he has to ensure that his thousands of employees don’t lose their jobs. What happened to Stanley Thai was a good example. I never met Stanley but I had been on the receiving end of his financial support when I help ran Anwar’s Digital War Room in GE13. Yes, I was one of those who posted as Anwar Ibrahim on his FB Page. We grew Anwar’s Page followings from 250k followers, to 1 million followers in 2 weeks. 5 years later, it only grew to 1.6 million. You know how you grew a Page by 750k in 2 weeks? Lots and lots of FB boosting and promotions. Which means lots and lots of money. Who donated? Stanley. And that’s just my operation. God knows what else he helped with. He took a stand, announced his support, I called him an idiot but man, I respect him for coming out with his support openly. And yes, he got charged for insider trading. Seriously? In Malaysia? Insider trading?

Now back to Tony, he was put in a position where he could lose the company and his thousands of staff, unemployed. Who’s gonna give them a job? You? Maybe for some but what about the rest? Yes it could be tied to the millions AAX owes the MAHB, but those millions could mean jobs. So I get him. He has to obey or risk his staff. To me, it was a selfless act.

Put yourself in your shoes. Oh wait, his shoes are too huge for most of us. We are not responsible for thousands of people’s rice bowl. He is. And still is.

Now let’s all slain Tony and boycott AirAsia and make their staff suffer because Tony only wanted to save them in the first place.

If all I know, his act made we all hate BN even more than we already did. Think about that.

Syed Saddiq describes Tony Fernandes as an unsung hero



When a video of him praising former premier Najib Abdul Razak and an AirAsia aircraft with BN's election slogan surfaced, the airline's chief executive officer Tony Fernandes drew immense flak.

However, Pakatan Harapan lawmaker Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman described the tycoon as an unsung hero.

He said the AirAsia boss was pushed into a corner due to his actions as well as his refusal to sack Rafidah Aziz as chairperson for being critical of former premier Najib Abdul Razak.

According to Syed Saddiq, Fernandes was among the first to help Muhyiddin Yassin when the latter was "punished for speaking the truth to power".

"(Fernandes) was once again a hero when AirAsia offered discounted flights and added flights during the election period.

"This infuriated some people in Najib's circle. It became worse when Parti Warisan Sabah uploaded a poster thanking this move as it meant that more Warisan supporters can fly back home to vote.

"It didn’t stop there. He refused to fire Rafidah after she spoke openly against Najib Razak despite being pressured to do so.

"Those actions came with a cost and he has to pay for it," said Syed Saddiq.

'People can criticise the gov't now!'

He said that Fernandes was then pushed into a corner and was compelled to state his support for Najib.

"He had to take a video and his staffs had to change their uniforms. Pictures of the whole event were taken without the right context.

"Please Malaysia, don’t label him as a pengkhianat (traitor). This story is based on my own personal knowledge.

"Tony has helped us from the start, but can’t disclose it to the public due to the fear of repression. I leave it to the Malaysian people to judge," he said.

Syed Saddiq, who is now the Muar MP, said his promise to Malaysia was that the public now can openly criticise the government and that businessmen are free to support any sides without fear of persecution.

"Happy new Malaysia everyone. Malaysia now belongs to the Rakyat. Thank you Tan Sri Tony Fernandez.

"Keep on making Malaysia great!"

Najib: TNB's global expansion helps raise value as listed entity

Government will "Bear" the cost instead by the rakyat......it is positive to TNB....but the Share Price will Up or Down on Monday.....Only God will know the answer
