It broke out from its round bottom pattern on 19/8 and hit a high of 0.26, only to succumb to the bearish engulfing candle of 20/8 that sent it into a consolidation phase. It is now trading sideways with a support at 0.205 and a resistance of 0.215. A break with volume of 0.215 would confirm its price reversal and render the breakout from its round bottom pattern valid. Similarly, a break in its support at 0.205 could send it back towards 0.185a and render the earlier break out a false breakout. If you are bottom fishing, you may want to set a stop loss at 0.19.

The gap up yesterday with healthy volume end up with a shooting star since the price could not sustain and some profit taking towards the closing. A hammer has formed today and improving indicators and if coupled with surging volume Azrb should penetrate above immediate resistance of 0.795 and scale to next resistance of 0.82. Supports are located at 0.775 and 0.765. A cut loss if 0.75 violated with volume.

AZRB worth double its value: CIMB Research

KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB Equities Research estimates Ahmad Zaki Resources Bhd (AZRB), with its last traded price at 72 sen, is worth double its value today.

“The share price is a big laggard when compared to the share prices of other small-cap contractors or other small-cap stocks in general, which have surged or even doubled year-to-date,” it said on Monday.

CIMB Research said for AZRB, it applied a 50% discount to AZRB's RNAV/share of RM2.95.

“The 50% discount is fair in our view and it is higher than the 10%-40% we apply to the construction stocks under our coverage. We arrive at an implied value of RM1.48 a share, which implies an upside of 103%,” it said.

CIMB Research said based on its estimates, the stock is worth double its value. The share price is a big laggard when compared to the share prices of other small-cap contractors or other small-cap stocks in general, which have surged or even doubled YTD.

“AZRB's business structure is similar to the likes of Gamuda and IJM Corp i.e. an order book-driven construction earnings, backed by stable and predictable earnings from property development, with more lucrative margins coming from other segments like its oil & gas bunkering facilities. There are also inherent values from its property and plantation land banks.

“Construction and oil & gas are the two major profit generators for AZRB, with contributions coming in at an equal split,” said the research house.

It is expected to trade between $0.925 and $0.95 in near term. A break below $0.925 may find $0.91 as Strong Support. Cut loss if $0.91 is violated. A break above $0.95 may test resistance 1 at $0.98 and resistance 2 at $1.02. Need to break above $1.07 to Trend Reversal.

Under consolidation. Seems to have found a support base at 1.02/1.03. If this support is broken, it should find support at 0.96. Need to clear resistance at 1.13 in order to scale higher towards 1.24. It could continue its consolidation on a side way trading pattern.
