GUA MUSANG – Bekas Menteri Kewangan, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah menafikan bahawa kejatuhan nilai ringgit yang semakin menghimpit negara pada hari ini berpunca daripada kemelut politik yang melanda negara.

Sebaliknya menurut beliau, ia berlaku kerana faktor luaran seperti masalah minyak mentah pasaran dunia dan perebutan pasaran global yang turut menyumbang kepada kejatuhan harga komuditi sawit dan getah di negara ini.

“Ia adalah faktor luaran yang kita tidak menjangkakan berlaku demikian hingga ada penduduk berhenti terus daripada menorah getah kerana tidak tahan dengan harga semakin rendah.

“Ini semua perlu ada inisiatif bagi mengatasinya dalam masa yang segera,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas merasmikan Surau Ibadur Rahman Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Jerek, disini, petang semalam.

Turut hadir pada majlis itu Adun Nenggiri, Datuk Mat Yusoff Abd Ghani, Adun Galas, Ab Aziz Yusof dan Ketua Pergerakan Wanita Umno bahagian, Datuk Wan Hazani Mohd Noor.

Bercakap kepada media, Tengku Razaleigh atau mesra disapa Ku Li berkata, beliau ada pandangan bagaimana untuk meningkatkan semula nilai Ringgit Malaysia yang kini jatuh teruk hingga menjadikan RM4 bersamaan dengan 1USD.

“Bagaimanapun, pandangan itu bukan untuk saya umumkan sekarang tunggulah sikit masa nanti dan jika berbuat demikian sudah pasti ringgi kembali naik,” katanya.

Ku Li turut menyatakan kebimbangannya dengan keadaan pada hari ini yang boleh membebankan kehidupan rakyat kerana harga barangan keperluan yang naik mendadak namun pada masa sama peluang pekerjaan pula tidak ada di dalam negara.

Sehubungan itu, beliau mahu kerajaan meningkatkan usaha terutama menarik lebih banyak pelabur ke negara ini bagi memberi peluang pekerjaan kepada penduduk kerana mereka tidak boleh lagi bergantung kepada hasil komuditi itu.

“Masalah pasaran minyak mentah dunia juga ada persaingan hebat dengan sama-sama pengeluar termasuk Arab Saudi yang menurunkan harganya begitu banyak kerana persaingan terdekat Iran.

“Walaupun Amerika Syarikat dan sekutunya melakukan sekatan pasaran minyak keatas Iran berikutan dituduh mengeluarkan bom nuklear, namun Iran masih bebas memasarkan minyak,” katanya.
