Singapura catat satu kes Covid-19 strain virus UK B117

GLOBAL | Singapura semalam melaporkan satu Covid-19 dari strain virus UK B117 membabitkan seorang remaja perempuan berumur 17 tahun yang menuntut di United Kingdom (UK) sejak Ogos 2020, kata Kementerian Kesihatan Singapura (MOH).

Menurut MOH, laporan baru-baru ini menyatakan strain B117 - varian virus Covid-19 yang lebih berpotensi untuk menular - kini merebak di UK dan Makmal Kesihatan Awam Nasional sedang melakukan turutan genom virus bagi kes-kes Covid-19 yang disahkan dan tiba dari Eropah baru-baru ini.

Dalam kenyataanya, MOH berkata sejumlah 31 kes import dari Eropah yang tiba di Singapura antara 17 Nov dan 17 Dis 2020 disahkan mempunyai jangkitan Covid-19 pada Disember 2020.

Kenyataan itu menyebut 12 daripada mereka tidak dijangkiti strain B117 manakala seorang lagi didapati dijangkiti strain tersebut.

“Lima sampel tidak boleh dipastikan susulan kandungan virusnya yang rendah dan kami masih menunggu keputusan 11 lagi kes yang pada awalnya dikesan positif strain B117. Dua kes belum disaring setakat ini,” katanya.

MOH berkata tiada bukti setakat ini strain B117 sedang menular dalam komuniti.
"Semua kes diberikan notis duduk di rumah selama 14 hari di kemudahan yang ditetapkan atau diasingkan sejurus tiba di Singapura dan kontak rapat mereka telah dikuarantin lebih awal," katanya.

Sebagai langkah berjaga-jaga bagi mengurangkan risiko penularan, Singapura kelmarin mengumumkan mulai jam 11.59 malam pada 23 Dis, semua pemegang pas jangka panjang dan pelawat jangka pendek dengan sejarah perjalanan terkini ke UK dalam tempoh 14 hari lepas tidak akan dibenarkan masuk ke atau transit di republik itu.
