Hi Intelligent Investor, in cell E112 in the "Finance" worksheet, I think you might have mistakenly deducted the Cash from the Non-Current Assets(E63) instead of the Current Assets(E40)? If not, then I apologise for my bad eye haha.
Hi Intelligent Investor, yup, I meant the calculations for Excess Cash. So that means Current Assets should be used for the deduction instead of Non-Current Assets?
Hi Intelligent Investor, I see, thanks a lot for the replies! And thank you for the worksheet, it is extremely helpful, especially for someone like me who's just starting out and learning.
You are welcome. Do let me know if you find other issue on the template.
Most of the item in the template was build by me based on Mr. Chong's course. You may want to consider to enroll to his online course if you wish to learn more.
hmm... i tried opening the file but apparently excel crashes immediately everytime i tries to open it.. is there any specific ways we should adapt upon opening the file ?
Just wondering. Do you happen to know Jae Jun too? His Excel only works for US stocks. I persuaded him to incorporate his Excel for Bursa stocks but he is not interested.
Thanks you for your compliment. As mentioned in my previous post, most of the item in the template was based on Mr. Chong's course. You may want to consider to enroll to his online course if you are new on this field.
And, I am using www.klse.my to retrieve the annual report. Do let me know if there is better source that can provide the financial data, I may able to built tools to perform auto analysis if such source is provided.
It is better I put the answer here and other members can aware on this too.
"You can key in 'incomelete data' to the template. But, it will show you a blank result if certain required data not provided. Do give a try. I do advise you to capture the data from annual report, and read the annual report first before you put your hard earn money to the market."
"A margin of safety is achieved when securities are purchased at prices sufficiently below underlying value to allow for human error, bad luck, or extreme volatility in a complex, unpredictable and rapidly changing world." - Seth Klarman
"The margin of safety is always dependent on the price paid. It will be large at one price, small at some higher price, nonexistent at some still higher price." - Benjamin Graham
In my opinion, MOS is the core principle for value investing. And, Graham told us "Confronted with a challenge to distil the secret of sound investment into three words, we venture the motto, Margin of Safety."
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
