Overall production this year will be less than 2015. Going forward foresee 2017 production will be further less . Guess oil palm price will more favourable going forward. This is due to climate change(dry), less fertiliser plus fertiliser quality is deteriorating, up trend of plant sickness like gouderma(kind of mushroom) which affect drastically plant productivity for tree age 12 year n above. Moreover kernal oil price is now increasing much more than palm oil price.

Kernel oil price is determine by market. It's oil is substitutable to coconut oil to some extend. Maybe is due to coconut oil production is reducing especially from Philippine. Understand more high end product Is able to generate from kernel oil. However as a small holder, currently if you sell your oil palm fruit to a processing plant through agent, kernel oil price is not pay to you. It go to factory or agent.

Those interested to know what is presented in today's and tmr palm oil conference can download their presentation from the sites below. Tmr those key guys on palm oil price such as Mielke, Fry and Mistry will presents their price forecast. Going forward, weather will still had impact on the price and if la Nina do appear, soybean will be affected as well. Enjoy your read.
