This is just a very rudimentary step and way too late, yet many so-called experts still asking for research.

So many other changes are necessary to fix the ailing education system. The 'products' are 'defective' in many ways. Lack of physical and mental health. Obese and unhealthy (hence less productive). Diabetics are growing exponential in numbers. Average national age for heart attack is 53 (so premature). Major depression among teenagers is so prevalent (up to one in six). And they tend to attempt self-healing using substances of abuse - glue, nicotine, etc. Poor insight and judgment too - easily corruptible and low threshold to support kleptocracy.

Ask: Do they practise Socratic method in the daily life? Do they think and reflect on Plato Cave and Epicurean paradox regularly?

Also ask these: Do they practise Socratic method in the daily life? Do they think and reflect on Plato Cave and Epicurean paradox regularly?

Only by using Socratic method, they stand a chance to exit Plato Cave, and thus get to see a different perspective model for their lives, the world and the universe differently - in a fresh way. While Epicurean paradox will help them to develop critical judgment and decide on the right model.

The problem is even teachers are not proficient in English. When education ministry proposes a temporary measure to bring in foreign English teachers, the chamipon of race and religion are quick to protest.

Malay students have phobia to commnicate in english. Thus, to kickstart a wider use of english, we choose middle path., We're already far left behind vs SIN due to language barrier. Pakatun should take bold step doing impose manglish in all subjects, not science and maths alone

This is because their own people make fun of them and in some serious cases ostracise..Sense of being isolated makes them "to join them if cannot beat them". Additional layer of religion is applied to further divide them from civilisation.

If God commands what's good becauss it's good, the He is just followingsome standard of goodness that isn't Him - so divine command theory is false if it says that morality is determined by God alone.

If what's good is good because God commands it, then morality looks arbitary and much less meaningful than most of us take it to be - morality is nothing deeper than the whim of the divine. Awful punitive actions might have been morally acceptable had God commanded them.

The death sentence of Socrates was the legal consequence of asking politico-philosophic questions of his students, which resulted in the two accusations of moral corruption and impiety. At trial, the majority of the dikasts (male-citizen jurors chosen by lot) voted to convict him of the two charges; then, consistent with common legal practice, voted to determine his punishment, and agreed to a sentence of death to be executed by Socrates’s drinking a poisonous beverage of hemlock.

National school teachers should just focus on what's truth to everyone of all creeds........

......so that the below mishap would not happen:

One of my many great grandchildren attended standard one in anational school this year. When he came home, I asked him to tell me things that happened in the memorable first day. He said a girl with headscarf stting in front of him threatened him that he would go to hell after a round of self-introducion in class.

My great grandchild : Just because I am a Dayak and nonbeliever of her god or her holy scripture?

Me: Although your great grandfather, me, is a master in philosophy and psychology, I'll find it extremely challenging to undo the damage she had inflicted onto you intentionally or unintentionally.

My great grandchild : I ran to question my class teacher, and guess what!? He affirmed what she told me!!!!



Together we must put a stop to elements which corrupt, distort and delude the minds of young in national schools nationwide

Should just decentralize this decision - let each school and their PTA decides.....

......let they even make English the medium of education. After all, students of any discipline struggle at universities when they are unable to read and comprehend quality research which are most time in English. This, inability to comprehend a universal dominant language will retard innovation and discovery, not only in sciences but also in humanities and business.

For the 21st Century, they need an excellent command in English, besides math and science.

The national school teaching of moral lesson from primary to the end of secondary is crap. Rote learning all the way. Sheer waste of time for the children, as well as both boring and torturing.

Until 1980s, Malaysia was highly productive until the old man took over leadership. Since then the rot set in all areas. Civil service was spring cleaned to get rid of Non Malays. Every schools headmasters are Malays. Non Malays are employed in bare minimum to show that this country is multi racial and tolerant. It is to appease foreigners and investors.

No wonder countries in the region which were far behind have progressed forward. Malaysia did not progress. All the mammoth infrastructure built is to mask the inefficient leadership. Wayang kulit!!

Let them learn in a more informal community for intellectual sharing of common interest - studying subjects such as language, mathematics and science.
