The reason Genetec is up so much is because the EV contract that they won is from non other than Tesla, hence the hype. Genetec has spent the last few years in qualification stage to become Tesla's tier-1 supplier, and their recent contract wins is for building the machines for Tesla's new battery assembly line. There were whispers in the market of Genetec's "new customer" but nobody knew who it was, that was until CIMB held a conference with analysts and fund managers recently with new info. Not surprisingly, institutionals have been snapping up the shares like hotcakes fresh out the oven. Even the guys at Greatech were surprised with Genetec's sudden emergence as a Tesla supplier. Hahaha

The RM42m you see in the announcement is only a small part for now, as the market expects that Genetec will get further contracts for building up more battery assembly lines in other Gigafactories. Tesla really like building their own batteries, don't they? That's why valuations have been soaring driving the price up even further.

Haih, institutions should really share info like this to retailers. So kesian you all scratching your heads and trying to read charts.

What i learnt fr. COLDEYE, the most important factor for capital gain was growth... maybe he got the vision/forward thinking of this co. that we dont have... otherwise we will be a multi-millionaire like him.... time will tell but i salute him.. i own all his books

Ya, I respect COLDEYE, willing to invest even though cashflow negative for many years (FY2020 is the worst). This totally contradicts with his philosophy.

Most probably he knows something from the company. Otherwise, i dun think he will invest in such company. After all, considering his status, he must know lots of people, & might know some insider news from the company that ordinary peoples cannot access.

Just add some, try my luck, collect this stock since early january this year @ 2.20 bcos i discover COLDEYE appeared in 99 & 20 AR, furthermore EV theme sure will come one day ... nonetheless, whether u base on FA or TA to invest or gamble for short term, risk within our control, follow our own SOP.... for me, just cut loss if drop more than 10%.

Fundamentally this co. is better than alot of listed co in KLSE, net cash, positive operating cash flow and involve in a huge potential sector, altho. currently dont hav good track record... frankly, im new in stock, only active in end 2019, i believe the true champion Value Investor was the one can smell/discover a co. value way ahead from others... not until a good QR out and everybody discover.
