Lol, QR should be bad lah. Petdag revenue for Q2 drop 60%.
Should be a loss still. However, i think the worst is behind them, in terms of both retarded EURO 5 capex etc, and the virus.
Traffic numbers are back up to 95% of 2019, second hand car sales have shot up as people dont want to take public transport due to covid etc.
One thing that should be quite bad is that jet fuel sales and refining should have drop like a rock. This is one of the cherries in Petronm earnings before this.
@Choivo Do you know what proportion of their profits were from jet fuel sales and refining? Can't seem to find this info anywhere, maybe i missed out somewhere.. Thanks.

ivanlau new TP for Petronm - rm 3.15 .......... as per my calculation 26/08/2020 10:10 PM ------------ unquote --------- I still stick to my previous calculation ..........
Petron is refining company, If the crude oil price drop the company should benefit for it because the cost to buy the crude oil is low but in the AR why they keep mention the drop of crude oil affected the revenue drop?
Petron Malaysia expects more customers to utilise the ATM MyDebit facility at its petrol stations, following the launch of the second series of the “Fuel Penuh Gaya MyDebit Je Dengan Kad ATM Anda” contest campaign.
General manager Faridah Ali said this is based on the success of the contest’s first edition,”FUEL-YoooH MyDebit Je Dengan Kad ATM Anda”, which was launched in January this year.
Faridah said Petron is the first petrol station network in the country to offer ATM MyDebit payment without the three-day RM200 pre-authorisation detention.
the collaboration with Petron and PayNet (Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd) through this contest because this simple method will further increase the mobility of the public which in turn contributes to cash flow and income generation in the country
Conducted in collaboration with Petron, Tourism Malaysia and PayNet, the campaign runs from Oct 1 to Dec 31, 2020, and is open to all Malaysian bank-issued ATM MyDebit cardholders who purchase at least RM5 worth of fuel in a single receipt at any of Petron’s outside payment terminals nationwide.
".., and I know that Norway and Malaysia started developing our oil and gas industry at about the same time. In fact, both Norway and Malaysia have about the same size of hydrocarbon reserves beneath our land and our seas. But while Norway managed their bounty carefully, and today they have one of the world’s largest sovereign funds from oil and gas resources, exceeding one trillion US dollars in value, Malaysia has a sovereign debt exceeding RM1.264 trillion, including government liability exposure and commitments"
Petron is no longer a refining company. It is today a petroleum retailing company that happens to have an in-house refinery. Given its current price is Petron Malaysia a value trap? I don't think so as its performance has been "hidden" by the low oil price. In terms of physical volume of sales, it has managed to grow its sales by 24 % over the past 7 to 8 years probably at Petronas expense. There is value at the current price but this is a stock for those with holding-power as any re-rating will depend on the oil price. There are several fundamental analysis of this company online. Check them to verify my view.
