osk report today stated "we believe the company's earnings will trend higher over the next few quarters and that it might end 2013 with its highest profit ever since listing in 2H 2010."

Me: Yeah I bought some Kimlun for the above reason because I always feel that if insiders buy, there is only one reason they do so; ie that they think the stock is undervalued. And who knows better than them? But is it true that Kimlun is strong in its cash flows as posted by people below?

Me: My opinion is that despite its good growth in revenue and earnings, cash flows is its Archilles heel. You really have to look at its cash flows statement.

kcchongnz, your are an engineer by profession and at the same time pick up the financial skill sets, it takes how long to achieve to the level u are now,...........many thks fr learning engineer
yfchong, i am just a retail investor still trying to learn from others too. Being an engineer like you may have a slight advantage because of the analytical mind. But I think everybody can be a better investor as long as he is willing to learn. Cold Eye who is a very good investor here is an example. He was a reporter by profession but he spends a lot of time absorbing knowledge of investment, read every annual report, analyzing stocks himself etc. I think to be a good investor, he must at least have the knowledge of some financial accounting, understand financial statements and analyze them and able to spot financial shenanigans. Knowing valuations will be very useful too as always remember a good company may not be a good investment. Read some good investment books such as "The 5 rules" (can't remember exactly the title) by Pat Dorsey, "One up Wall Streets" by Peter Lynch, some books by Philip Fisher, Joel Greenblatt etc. Practice those things learned while doing your investment. There are also huge amount of free information from the internet. Visit those websites of Old School Value of Jae Jun, Professor Aswath Danamoran etc and you would be amaze how much useful knowledge you can gather. How long does it take to be good? Learning is a life long process. One will improve his skill along the way. The most important prerequisite is don't stop learning, practicing and actually doing it in the real world. Is there any short cut to be a good investor? I doubt so unless one is extremely lucky, consistently.
Joined the boat today after reading the reviews here. Yup, know the risk involved and at my own risk. Thanks for sharing of all the info and comments. I love this forum cause can get both positive/negative reviews. Thanks again.
