Won 1.38B project.But if u read the announcement carefully,the contract is NOT expected to contribute positively for the current financial year ending 31 Dec 2013.I bought 200 lot @ 0.63 2 min b4 Thurs closing.Luckly the price went up today n I am very HAPPY to disposed off @0.69.

Gamuda director's son raises stake in Bina Puri to 9.52%..Gamuda Bhd director Datuk Ng Kee Leen’s son, Ng Keong Wee, has raised his stake in Bina Puri Holdings Bhd to 9.52% yesterday from 5.7% about two weeks ago.
The junior Ng, 28, is speculated to lead construction firm’s property business going forward.
He bought another six million shares at RM1 apiece through a private placement, a stock exchange filing showed.
The price of the shares he bought was a 38.89% premium to the stock’s last done price of 72 sen.

PETALING JAYA: Bina Puri Bhd’s unit Bina Puri Sdn Bhd has secured a RM96.58mil project from Likas Bay Precint Sdn Bhd to construct a “Koums Asrama” in Kuala Menggatal, Sabah.
In a filing with the stock exchange yesterday, Bina Puri said the project was expected to be completed within two years and would contribute to its financial year 2013 earnings.
“With the latest award, the group has thus far secured RM871.85mil worth of projects in 2013.
“The group’s unbuilt book order stands at RM2.01bil to date. The management is still confident that they can further secure new projects by the end of 2013,” it said.

This is another stock for long-term investors. Ng Keong Wee raised his stake by getting the private placement shares that were sold at a PREMIUM of 1 RM to the present share price. Why would BPuri offer shares at a premium if they didn't think good things would happen down the road. And more importantly, who would buy them? I just wish these guys were more transparent with their property developments. They say they have property GDV of 2.5B RM, but they never talk about the projects or give specific details. They just mention location. If anybody can direct me to some specifics about the property developments, I would appreciate it.
After all, this is a very political related stock ; fit for those buy at low volume and stagnant price movement like what it has been nowadays and sell when it trends high
Construction and property developer Bina Puri Holdings Bhd has signed a jointventure (JV) agreement to build high-end residential bungalows in Bangkok, Thailand, estimated at a gross development value (GDV) of RM200 million.
Its chairman Tan Sri James Foong Cheng Yuen said the project called Bangkok Marina Resort & Spa will begin construction in the first-quarter (1Q) of 2014. The development is expected to be completed and ready for occupancy by the 1Q of 2017.
“Bangkok Marina will be executed by our subsidiary Bina Puri (Thailand) Ltd (BPTL), together with two other JV partners, Thai-based UFUN Group Ltd and Tang Cong Shun, an independent investor from China.
“BPTL, UFUN and Tang will form a JV company, Bangkok Property Co Ltd, whereby BPTL will be the main contractor for the project with UFUN managing the sales and investment coming from China,” he told reporters at the signing ceremony in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
He said the project is expected to contribute about 20% in profit margin for Bina Puri in 2015 and 2016.
Located in the city of Bangkok and close to Suvarnabhumi Airport, the city’s international airport, Bangkok Marina will comprise 817 single-storey, double-storey semi-detached, double-storey duplex and resort suites along with residential buildings, as well as leisure and entertainment outlets and also a seafood restaurant.
“We anticipate 100 units of the high-end residence to be taken up by UFUN members in the first three months, after which we will then open the sales for the units to buyers from China and Asean,” Tang said.
Investors will stand to enjoy total returns of between 20% and 30% from the estimated GDV of RM200 million from the first phase.
