Look at bigger scale.. Regal is global player. There are a numbers of other Data Centre in SEA region. The Japs are smart ppl... By RTO GPA expertise... the product of GPA not only utilised by Regal..but will be exported to global market as well.... What product? Products that GPA expert at.... . GPA will surely leverage this opportunity for growth.... With strong support fm renowned company like Regal... One day GPA will have the capabilities to dominance batterues UPS industry or even automobile battry as global player....

Automotive Batteries; Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) Batteries; and Used Cars.

The Automotive Batteries segment develops, assembles, and markets batteries and components for vehicles.The VRLA Batteries segment produces and sells sealed lead acid batteries.

Market/revenue.

Its Automotive Batteries segment acts as a core revenue driver for the firm. The company’s key revenue is derived from Malaysian region....at present



Analysis
So by RTO GPA is venturing into UPS batteries alike. Market is lucrative ..since the life trend today more more dependable on IT/ Computers related day to day bz and life style...what does this implicates? global market for this kind of niche is more demanding and GPA by expanding its wing in her expertise sure win win....more bz..more revenues ...stock value appreciate and ppl like us shareholders surely smile of course expecting good and better ROI..

Why? Market not only in Malaysia..but going to be global player ...

Regal sees this..The BOD has vision and missiob.They are seeing things beyond decade time frame...

Today’s world is seeing an increase in the use of cloud computing, and being connected to the internet at all times is the norm. People walk around with smartphones continuously connected to the internet. Binging entire seasons of shows from streaming services has become the preferred method of watching television. There are so many widespread uses of the cloud that I could not possibly list them all here. One thing is for certain. All of this use of the internet and the cloud requires extraordinary amounts of storage space and infrastructure. That is the job of the data center.

The data center is the heart of the internet. In order to make sure this information is available 100% of the time, data centers are designed for maximum reliability.

What is this hve got to do with GPA bz niche?

The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is one piece of equipment every data center uses to make sure the servers and all sensitive pieces of computing equipment are never susceptible to power line disturbances and power quality issues.

Most UPS used VRLA batteries where GPA is the subject matter expert. So common interest segment and opportunities for both. GPA too is in BSKL..wowww thats added value.

So Regal BOD sees this... Regal is SME and have the know how expertise in Data centre bz and renowned. This is facts.

GPA is going global on VRLA and not only for Malaysia market or even SEA but beyond ....becoming Global bz entity. What does this mean? The stock value of course appreciate and of value.. Share holders will surely smile..why? Good to better ROI

Just a tot.

With phase 1 of the data centre operation scheduled to commence in oct 2020 accepting Regal Orion's RTO offer can be sooner than we think. With today teleconferencing facilities and subject to the accepted terms of offer announcement may not be too far away.
It's just a matter of time line.
Best strategy is Buy and keep for long term. Better than interest earned from TMD.

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 13): GPA Holdings Bhd confirmed that it has been approached by data centre operator for Regal Orion Sdn Bhd for a possible reverse takeover (RTO).

The battery manufacturer said its board and major shareholder cum non-independent and non-executive chairman Tan Sri Tan Hua Choon have been approached by several parties, including Regal Orion, for a possible asset injection into GPA.

"However, there has not been any concrete development thereof which would warrant an announcement to be made at this point of time," it added in response to a query from Bursa Malaysia over an article in the latest issue of The Edge Malaysia, which quoted sources as saying that GPA could be the subject of RTO by Regal Orion.

The weekly reported that ongoing talks for the RTO were stymied by the Covid-19 lockdown, which resulted in Regal Orion's owner Ryuichi Shimokawa being stranded in Japan.

In March 2018, Regal Orion acquired a data centre at Techpark @ Enstek in Labu, Negeri Sembilan for RM69 million.

Shares in GPA finished 2.94% or half a sen lower at 16.5 sen, valuing the group at RM161.78 million. The counter saw 178.31 million shares traded.
