If compare with Perisai(similar price O&G) Icon can win 2 O&G contracts this year(Perisai 0?) and on latest QR Icon do better. Why Icon lower price than Perisai?

Despite PETRONAS report lower profit(& warning to cut capex) yet Icon still manage to win 2 O&G contracts of RM 99 million and RM 55 million this year is not bad.

“According to Petronas’ second-quarter results, the crude oil, condensate and natural gas volume production for the first six months was 2,327 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/day), up from 2,234 thousand boe/day in the corresponding period last year.

“It was mainly due to the increase in new production streams in Malaysia, Iraq and Azerbaijan. This shows that the decline in exploration oil rigs does not have an immediate impact on current production,” said the analyst.

O&G players that own or support drilling rigs include UMW Oil & Gas Corp Bhd (UMW O&G), SapuraKencana Petroleum Bhd (SapKen), Icon Offshore Bhd, Alam Maritim Resources Bhd and Perisai Petroleum Bhd.

rockycleft , funds are exiting not only icon, most oil n gas counter facing this similiar situation , all discounted almost 80% from the peak, perisai, alam, knm etc , why should i angry ? i just start buying some icon from 29sen, i only stuck with perisai n alam.. about 50% paperlost for now , for me i think now its time start buying some for long tems, i jus dont like people just simply whack tp like 5 sen, 10 sen , its stupid n talk nonsense, now there might be supply glut , but do remember , human consume oil everyday, oil is not like gold.. gold is always there but oil will finished one day, i really dont believe all the supply n demand shit, i only know oil price are manupulated by those market player, now they can release all bad news everyday, but they can also suddenly change the story n push up the price again next year.. we will jus have to wait n see

tony89 no news is good news. Actually most of MACC case is their routine jobs doesn't mean any wrong doing on counter party. Please tell me which MACC case end up in prosecution. Just wait for QR news which is latest by 28th Aug to show whether Icon can still make profit.

When oil price is low like this month eg Ron95 RM 1.95/ltr, people tend to use more oil ie they travel more so actually usage for oil will increase. O&G future is still bright.

KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 14): Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said on Monday a government equity investment firm would be given 20 billion ringgit (US$4.6 billion) to shore up the country's stock market, and announced other measures to support its slowing economy.

Najib told a newsconference the equity investment firm, ValueCap, will invest in undervalued Malaysian companies.

He also announced that the factory sector would be exempted from import dutires until the economy recovers, but did not specify which sectors would be affected.

The ringgit currency has lost almost 19% of it value against the dollar so far this year, and Malaysia's stock market has retreated 8.95% this year.
