http://www.thestar.com.my/News/Nation/2013/11/25/Najib-Its-either-GST-or-facing-bankruptcy.aspx MALAYSIA BOLEH!! The question and topic of the headline should read "it's either corruption or bankrupcy" Every year the leakage amt thru corruption is approx rm26 billion and GST implemented will target a revenue of rm20+ billion. Second question.....is the GST supposed to supplement the leakage??

The real issues is not tackle and remedy but passed it on with another burdens to the rakyat. Then started to hookwinked and using scare tactics to entice the rakyat to believe what they did is for the benefits and caring for the rakyat.

Bullshit....................................just get lost if you can't managed the country and please don't use race and religious as a shield. Shame on you at the top, the palace and those religious/race NGO.

Malasyia does not have a very intelligent PM. 1. How did we get into this position in the first place to justify comparing with Greece? 2. If you know the position is so bad why spend on infra, MRT, defence, BR1M, bonuses, bloated civil service, foreign consultants, private jets for Rosy costing at least RM 100 BILLION ? 3. are you simply trying to justify GST so that your cronies will benefit at the expense of the rakyat?

CAN GST SAVE MALAYSIA FROM BANKRUPTCY?

Not as long as the imprudent Umno Baru-led BN government remains at the helm.

A nation will not go bankrupt with or without GST.
It is the imprudence and corruption in a Govt that bankrupt a nation

Najib beri kata dua kepada rakyat Malaysia. GST atau negara bankrupt.

Aik, sapa yang buat hutang negara bertambah. Rakyat ke?

Macam Samy Vellu, Jamaluddin Jarjis. Tapi kerja apa? Kita pun taktau. Gaji jalan, kerja tak jalan, duit terbuang, rakyat tanggung. Tiap2 bulan. Kalau setahun dah berapa? Kalau 5 tahun dah berapa?

4. Kempen demi kempen yang 100% di bawah kerajaan. Contohnya ko nak kempen pasal merokok. Then ko akan lantik syarikat kroni. Projek2 neh bukan projek gajah putih atau gajah mampos. Projek2 neh jalan. Contoh kes macam portal / website harga barang tue. Dengan isu email 1Malaysia. Sudah2la tue. Jangan ditanya tentang perkembangan tue lagi. Agak2 kalau penyokong2 BN ada rasa malu, tolong la.. pandai2 la sorok muka sendiri kat mana2 tempat yang patut.

5. Projek demi projek untuk kroni2 sendiri. Projek jalan juga. Bukan gajah putih atau warna warni atau gajah mati. Projek jalan cuma mislead sikit dari matlamat asal.

Punyalah dasat nak mampos. Itulah hakikatnya.

Najib: It’s either GST or facing bankruptcy

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has a stark choice of either increasing government revenue via the goods and services tax (GST) or burdening the country by borrowing more money.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the implementation of GST was necessary as the country risked becoming bankrupt like Greece if it resorted to borrowing.

“We have to find additional sources of income and that’s why we have to implement the GST,” he said at a seminar on Strengthening the National Economy.

He said rating agency Moody’s Investors Service changed their outlook on Malaysia from neutral to positive just weeks after the GST was announced.

“This is because they know Malaysia was taking fiscal consolidation steps which are unpopular but necessary for the good of the country,” he said.

Najib lashed out at the Opposition for their mixed comments about whether they supported the GST and for clouding the issue with unfair arguments, including the high electricity bill of his official residence,

He pointed out Seri Perdana belonged to the people of Malaysia and he was occupying it temporarily just like his two predecessors.

“It has a function room. If a head of state comes, are we expected to dine in the dark?

“If the Chinese premier comes, should we use candlelight and say this is more romantic?” he quipped.

Najib said out of an entire workforce of 14 million, only 1.34 million paid income tax.

“That is just 10% who pay, and there are others who should pay but don’t,” he said.

He pointed out the definition of patriotism is fulfilling one’s responsibility to the country and this included paying taxes.

He added that the public’s expectations on the Government was always increasing, and more revenue is needed to meet these demands.

He said Malaysians cannot always depend on revenue from petroleum which will eventually run out.

Najib said the public’s fear that the GST would cause staggering price increases was unfounded.

He said 160 other countries have implemented the GST and from their experience there is only a slight increase in prices in the year of implementation.

“It is unlikely all these countries made a mistake by implementing the GST,” he said

No hope. No matter what strategy wont help, same old problem keep arising. Selfishness, think of ownself only.
